When delivering powerful, clear sound in a variety of live or installed audio settings, the LD System ICOA 12 A 12″ Powered Coaxial PA Loudspeaker stands out as an exceptional choice. Whether you are a professional sound engineer, a venue owner, or a touring musician, this loudspeaker offers the reliability and audio quality needed to engage your audience with precision and impact. Its design addresses the common challenges of achieving balanced sound coverage, durability, and ease of use, making it an indispensable tool for any serious sound reinforcement application.
The ICOA 12 A is equipped with a 12-inch custom-made woofer combined with a 1-inch high-frequency driver mounted on a BEM optimized coaxial horn. This configuration ensures consistent dispersion of 90 degrees horizontally by 50 degrees vertically, which means your sound will cover your venue evenly without hot spots or dead zones. The ferrite magnets used in both drivers provide robust magnetic fields that maintain clarity and punch, even at high output levels. The coaxial design aligns the high and low frequencies perfectly in phase, resulting in a coherent and natural sound that is easier for your audience to enjoy over long periods.
Powering this loudspeaker is a Class D amplifier rated at 300 watts RMS with a peak capability of 1200 watts. This means you have ample headroom to handle dynamic peaks without distortion. The high maximum sound pressure level of 126 dB peak ensures your audio remains clear and powerful even in noisy or large environments. The inclusion of advanced protection circuits such as multiband limiters, over-voltage, over-current, and thermal overload safeguards the speaker and amplifier from damage, enhancing reliability and reducing downtime during critical performances.
Control and connectivity are designed with professional flexibility in mind. The speaker features two combination XLR and 6.3 mm jack inputs for microphones or line-level sources, plus an additional 3.5 mm TRS line input and an XLR line output for chaining multiple units. The intuitive rotary/push encoder and LC display make it easy to adjust gain and settings on the fly, ensuring optimal sound without fuss. This user-friendly interface saves time during setup and allows for precise tuning tailored to your specific environment.
Constructed from durable polypropylene with a bass reflex cabinet design, the ICOA 12 A is rugged enough for the rigors of touring or permanent installation. It weighs just under 20 kilograms and measures 375 mm wide, 635 mm high, and 396 mm deep, making it reasonably portable while maintaining a solid presence. The speaker offers multiple mounting options, including a 36 mm flange with 0° and 5° angles and six M10 flying points for secure suspension, allowing for versatile placement as a main PA, monitor, or installation speaker.
This loudspeaker is ideal for a variety of professional applications, from live music venues, corporate events, houses of worship, to DJ setups and conference rooms. Its broad frequency response from 50 Hz to 20 kHz ensures it can handle everything from deep bass to crisp highs, providing a full-range audio experience. The built-in switching power supply supports worldwide voltages from 100 to 240 V AC, making the ICOA 12 A a reliable companion whether you are performing locally or internationally.
In summary, the LD System ICOA 12 A combines powerful, high-fidelity sound with robust construction and practical features that make it a versatile and dependable solution for demanding audio professionals. Its thoughtful design ensures consistent coverage, ease of use, and long-term durability, giving you the confidence to deliver exceptional performances every time.
