Achieve studio-grade recordings with the Golden Age Project TC1, a tube condenser microphone engineered to reproduce rich, warm sound with exceptional clarity and flexibility. Its large 1.02″ gold-sputtered dual capsule captures a broad frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, ensuring every detail is faithfully recorded.
The TC1 offers nine precise polar patterns, including cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8, and six intermediate settings, granting unparalleled control over directional sensitivity. This versatility lets you tailor the mic response to diverse recording environments and techniques, from isolating vocals to capturing room ambience or complex stereo setups like Mid-Side and Blumlein.
Equipped with a hand-selected 6072/12 AT7 vacuum tube and discrete Class A tube electronics, the TC1 delivers a warm, vintage tonal character prized in professional studios. Its transformer-balanced output stage maintains signal integrity with an output impedance of 200 ohms, minimizing noise and preserving sonic richness.
Designed to handle up to 140 dB SPL with only 1% total harmonic distortion, this microphone excels on loud sources without compromising clarity. The included -10 dB pad prevents overload on high-volume inputs, while the 100 Hz 3 dB/octave low-cut filter reduces low-frequency rumble, ensuring clean recordings in challenging acoustic environments.
The microphone’s brass body with a silver finish combines durability with an elegant aesthetic. It connects via a 7-pin TC1 cable to an external power supply featuring a 3-pin XLR connector and polar pattern selector, enhancing functional convenience. The package includes a shockmount for vibration isolation and a flight case for secure transport.
Ideal for vocals, acoustic and electric instruments, percussion, and ambient room capture, the TC1’s sonic versatility and robust build make it a reliable tool for producers and engineers seeking authentic tube warmth with modern flexibility. Its low self-noise of 18 dB ensures quiet recordings, while sensitivity at -36 dB @ 1 kHz captures subtle nuances with precision.
With its combination of vintage-inspired design, advanced features, and comprehensive accessories, the Golden Age Project TC1 stands as a cost-effective solution for professional tube condenser performance. Invest in a microphone that blends heritage sound with technical excellence.
