Extremely good sound separation from sides. Great pick up from the front. Exactly what I needed. This has made my work so much easier.

Ok
This product have besic wrong thing,
Battery compartment lock is too weak and fragile.
Power consumption is way higher.

Highly priced in India, it supposed to be around 16k to 17k.
Extremely high priced in India. Week back the price was 18.5k wince the stocks r ending they raised it to 21k.
About the product its really amazing n high tech oriented device in a compact size. I highly recommend any one to buy Zoom F1 bz of its portability, quality of recordings. Parellel recording feature on this gear with dslr gives you redundancy.
Many dslr who don’t have audio speaker jack they cns monitor the sound 🔊, in Dslr it’s not possible to monitor the receiver sound with crisp details when there is no headphone jack.

Great product for media professionals.
It’s an amazing product. As a media professional I strongly recommend this product, especially for one man crew. Compact and multi functional.

Decent recorder for lapel mics
I’ve not tested the shotgun mic on this yet, so I can’t really comment on that.
The recorder itself is great. It’s made from mostly metal, and feels solid.
In my opinion there’s a serious design oversight with the battery compartment cover. Super fiddly to get the cover out of the way to change batteries. I see other people have faulted it on this too.
I’m happy with it. I bought a separate lapel might from another company, as the Zoom lapel mic seems over-priced to me.

Nice step up from the H1n
Love that I can use it as a shotgun mic or lapel mic. This makes it very versatile and a nice compliment to the H1n. I’m often using both at the same time for something like an interview. I’ll probably get a second one of these at some point.

Love How Small It Is and the ability to use Other Mic Capsules and Lav
I didn’t think I would love this as much as I do. Excellent recorder. Build quality is good it feels solid. Does not feel like a plastic toy. Buttons are good and so is the battery door. The best thing is it’s small compact size and it’s versatility. Using it with a lav mic you can just stick this in your pocket or run your belt through the rails for a more secure fit. The shotgun mic records great. Love the capability to swap out mic capsules. Have the MS capsule on the way.
I do feel Zoom should have included the lav mic and belt clip along with this. I bought a lav with screw lock for like $10. The belt clip is a bit tricky. I hope they sell those separately. The screw on the back is NOT a standard 1/4 20. It’s way smaller. The shock mount is made well but the application is a little meh. You can only use it with this. 4 arms kinda snap onto the rails. The whole thing bounces around a lot. The recorder turns on quick and it’s 1 button press recording similar to the H2N. I’m having fun with it and it is an excellent recorder. Love the versatility. Can’t put it down.
