Re-amping demands precision, clarity, and flexibility. The United Studio Technologies Replay Box delivers all three by providing clean, isolated signal transfer with low noise and robust gain, ensuring your tone remains pure and dynamic throughout the process.
Re-amping often introduces noise and insufficient gain, complicating tone control and signal integrity. The Replay Box addresses these challenges with two custom transformer circuits, each engineered for distinct sonic outcomes, allowing you to tailor the re-amped signal to your exact needs.
- Transparent Mode: Utilizes a custom-wound 5043 step-up transformer with a 300 Ω input impedance and 1 k Ω output impedance, delivering +3 dB gain above input level. This ensures a clean, isolated, and uncolored signal ideal for mastering-grade re-amping without added noise or distortion.
- Harmonic Mode: Employs a transformer with 50 Ω input impedance and 150 Ω output impedance, offering +5 dB gain and a gentle high-frequency roll-off from 40 Hz to 20 kHz. This mode adds subtle harmonic coloration and phase distortion in the sub-bass range, enriching your tone with warmth and depth.
- Input Controls: Phase Inverse and Ground Lift switches eliminate ground-loop hum and phase issues, providing a noise-free, professional-grade signal path in complex studio environments.
- Frequency Response: Both modes maintain a tight frequency range within +/-0.5 dB, ensuring consistent tonal accuracy from bass to treble.
- Physical Design: Compact dimensions (149 x 52 x 155 mm with feet) and a lightweight aluminum chassis weighing only 0.8 kg enable easy integration into studio racks or pedalboards, while recessed edges and screw-mounted removable feet offer durability and versatile mounting options.
- Recommended Input: Accepts +4 dB balanced line-level signals, making it compatible with professional DAWs, mixers, and outboard gear.
