SPL Tube Vitalizer: Unmask Every Sonic Information
Whether you’re mastering, mixing, or repairing old records, the SPL Tube Vitaliser Harmonic Exciter will improve clarity and add tube-powered richness! The Tube Vitalizer’s proprietary filter network is intended to use the power of SPL’s psychoacoustic and audiometric research to, in their words, “de-mask” your sound and expose previously concealed auditory layers. As difficult as it may sound, the Tube Vitaliser has a very easy workflow, with a vitaliser stage, a high-frequency/harmonics stage, and a tube stage, all controlled by simple, intuitive controls. With built-in compressors, shunt limiters, and coil filters, the SPL Tube Vitaliser is a powerful and adaptable instrument for extracting every sonic nuance from your audio!
“De-mask” your sound
One of the Tube Vitalizer’s main duties is what SPL calls “De-masking,” which makes even the smallest bits of your sound loud and clear. studio specialists feel that the Tube Vitalizer’s “De-masking” process sorts out your sound, enabling each source in a mix to stand out without becoming overly cluttered. Vocals become crisper, instruments get more clarity, and the Tube Vitaliser gives your audio a vibrant and transparent quality, making every source seem more real.
Core vitaliser circuit
Psychoacoustics, audiometric research, proprietary filter networks—as sophisticated as the Tube Vitaliser may sound on paper, we were pleasantly impressed by its user-friendly control interface and simple process! The Tube Vitaliser has five settings that handle most of the work: the drive control regulates the volume coming into the filter network, and the Bass control changes the low end from a gentle thud to a tight punch. The bass compressor knob provides you control over low-end dynamics, while the coil filter (LC) button delivers your bass a robust, muscular tone.
Hi-Mid Freq determines the level at which you want frequencies above the cutoff to be amplified while simultaneously taming lower frequencies, and Process Level controls the strength of your Hi-Mid and Bass sculpting.
Powerful high frequency and tube stages.
In addition to the five knobs on the core vitaliser circuit, the Tube Vitaliser features a strong high-frequency and harmonics processing stage! This stage has its own compressor and coil filter to further shape your upper register. Furthermore, the Tube Vitalizer’s tube stage has amazing attenuation settings, as well as a shunt limiter that adds tube-style analog saturation to your sound.
