    A great value.
The Mooer Steep I is an overall clean sounding interface that also has surprisingly decent pre-amps & low latency drivers. It’s excellent for it’s price point.

Software is not good, design and feel are.
This audio interface, looks and feels amazing and the indication lights are great. However, the software is lacking, my audio randomly will drop in bit rate causing it to sound like a retro video game. I tried multiple times to fix the software for the interface and my own computer settings but no solution. I have reached out to the company numerous times with no replies to my emails on assistance with the set-up or to see about getting a replacement.

Solid hardware with excellent sound reproduction and easy onboard controls
This is a terrific little piece of hardware. The two inputs allow for either two instruments, or on instrument and one microphone, perfect for the solo singer/songwriter looking for a quick and easy to use audio interface. There are on-surface knobs to control input levels for both channels, and there are two lines out for stereo monitoring, and a very convenient mix knob which allows blending the monitored signal with a direct signal from the device.Sound quality from all inputs is excellent, and monitoring has no latency, making for easy recording without a time lag. The chassis is solid and durable, and the knobs all turn smoothly, and feel solid.I recieved the Steep 1, so I can’t comment on the MIDI connections on the premium unit.I’m using my unit with Mac computers – a Mini, and a Macbook Air laptop, and several different DAW’s, including ProTools, Logic Pro and Garageband – so far it has worked well with all the configurations I’ve tried, with Mac’s audio finding and accessing the device easily. Overall, this is a very compact, rock solid interface with great onboard controls and bright, easy to read LED’s. Its great for quick note taking on the road, or as a front end sound source for in studio recording. The low price point makes it a good choice for entry level users too!

Was hoping to replace my zoom h4n
I’ve used a zoom h4n to record my voice overs for years. I plug a Rode mic into and the sound quality is great, but I have to deal with transferring the files on SD cards that are so big they don’t fit into the slot in my laptop anymore. I got this to cut out the middleman and go directly into the laptop. It connected fine and the interface was super easy and straight forward (unlike the zoom.) The problem was the audio wasn’t quite up to the same quality. It was decent, even usable for anything that was going to have a music bed under it, but there was definitely a little noise that registered on the audio. I was able to filter it out, but that’s one more step and I got this to eliminate steps. I’ve been doing audio for over forty years so I’m pretty picky about quality, but most people probably would notice it.

A basic mixer with very good sound
This device is a very basic mixer — useful if you need one line in and one mic input device, or alternatively two line in devices. It allows for headphone monitoring, and two main outputs. There is also a USB out for connection to a PC.The sound quality is quite good for such a small unit; no EQ or FX on this device; these could be added using the PC audio software. The function buttons were easy to understand. I would have preferred an XLR or combo jack for the main outputs, as they only were 1/4 inch. Important note: This device only works with Windows 10 and above. If you only need to record a couple devices or a simple audio setup, this device is worth considering. It is compact and lightweight. It has two USB C outputs: One for direct connection to a PC, the other for power if the device is configured as a stand alone mixer.
