ESP’s list of bass barons includes Anthrax’s Frank Bello, Slayer’s Tom Araya, Lamb of God’s John Campbell, and hundreds more, comprising their impressive artistic roster across nearly every genre you can imagine. For those just starting their low-end odyssey and looking for an entry-point into ESP’s house of bass, the LTD B-15 is a wonderful choice that Sweetwater is happy to provide. This 5-string basswood thumper comes loaded with ESP-designed active pickups, delivering a crisp, full sound. The thinner, U-shaped maple neck is perfect for students and those new to the bass, as its low profile is comfortable and accommodating to many playstyles. The 24-fret fingerboard — in conjunction with the 5-stringed arrangement — serves up opportunities to play everything from Charles Mingus to Metallica. Sweetwater tip: use the Active Tone Boost to really crank up the tunes.

Electrify your sound

The B-15 certainly looks slick, but we can assure you it’s got bark and bite. The ESP-designed active pickups stem from years of working with the world’s best, and their robust tone is magnified by the addition of the Tone Boost Control knob. Use this when you really want to fatten up the low end and add some extra oomph to your grooves. Thanks to the basswood body, the electrics have great sustain, too!
