The RC-5 features the most advanced interface available in any compact looper pedal. The LCD lets you keep an eye on loop status as you perform, with a backlight that changes color to indicate recording, overdub, and playback states. And coupled with the multi-function parameter knob, it’s quick and easy to navigate rhythms, kits, system settings, and more in the heat of the moment.
The RC-5’s versatile pedal switch controls all looping functions—record, overdub, play, stop, and undo/redo. But deeper control is also supported if you need it. Connect up to two external footswitches for direct control of many assignable functions, or an expression pedal for continuous adjustments. Players with advanced systems will love the TRS MIDI I/O, which saves space and enables remote operation from MIDI switchers and foot controllers, plus MIDI sync with drum machines and DAWs.
With 57 preset rhythms and seven different drum kits, the RC-5 is ready to elevate loop and practice sessions with inspiring grooves for any style. For each rhythm, A/B variations can be selected from the panel or controlled via MIDI while performing. The RC-5’s looper engine also includes a cool reverse function that’s great for infusing your music with fresh sonic colors.
The RC-5 provides 99 phrase memories, letting you store loops as fast as you create them. In addition to audio, a phrase memory includes the selected rhythm and kit, so it’s ready to go when you call it up. Loop audio can be backed up to a computer via USB. And with WAV import via BOSS Tone Studio, the RC-5 becomes a pedalboard playback hub for lesson material, jam tracks, or backing music for your next gig.

Being a guitarist this is the priceless possession I ever had. In fact RC-5 changed the whole pattern of my playing. Now with this I can configure lead. chord and bass as well as rhythm pattern and play simultaneously by adding multi dimensions. This cute unit has multiple layering and features which always remind me to learn more and more about newer style of playing. This is the best Music Master who can teach, correct and improvise. The record and play feature provide lot of provisions for self improvisation. For the price and performance, this is the best Looper pedal. I feel extremely satisfied with this unit

Powerful looper in a compact size – a must-have!
The Boss RC-5 is a beast in a small box. Super intuitive to use, with tons of memory and high-quality 32-bit sound. The LCD screen is a great addition – makes navigating loops and settings way easier. It’s built like a tank (classic Boss), and the rhythm patterns are super useful for practice or live jamming. Whether you’re a solo artist, looping ideas, or building live layers, this pedal delivers. Totally worth the investment!

Great looper, bit of a learning curve
This is a great little looper that has really helped my practice and timing. Steep learning curve to work it out but there are a bunch of YouTube videos to help and you can find the manual online. There’s nothing in the box to help you to get started. Using the fs 6 for pedal with it really helps. A few reviews on here complain about the backing track being too loud and potentially damaging equipment. It can be turned down. You just need to take the time to work out all of the settings. I’m an intermediate player just getting in to soloing and scales and this is a great tool to lay a backing track and jam over. I’m still working it out but I love it. Built like a brick shit house like all of the boss pedals. I use rechargeable 9v batteries to save on cords and having to buy the boss power supply
