With switchable power modes to bring the volume down to a sensible level, to an inbuilt reactive load that routes the post-power valve output signal to the amp’s direct recording outputs coupled with Blackstar’s state-of-the-art and fully customisable CabRig™ IR based DSP speaker simulator for truly authentic ‘amp-in-a-room’ feel.

Our goal for the St. James amps was simple… Create the world’s most advanced valve amps with a plethora of inspirational tones that will allow you to get the best out of your performance, all in one, reliable box for genuine, room-filling sound on stage or in recordings.
We sonically referenced some of the most revered and sought after amps of the 20th and 21st centuries and then designed our own circuits from the ground up in Northampton, England to make sure that you not only get beloved classic tones, but that you can sculpt your guitar tone more than ever before and push your creative boundaries.
We developed our own, class leading, reactive load box which is incredibly compact and lightweight that accurately replicates speaker drive and breakup – built directly into the St. James.
You’ll find an array of outstanding classic cabinet and mic combinations over on our user-friendly interface so that you can create the sound in your head with ease.

Collaborating with Celestion, we pioneered the extraordinary Zephyr lightweight speaker. Like a Formula 1 race car, we stripped back unnecessary weight, resulting in a lightweight speaker that still uses a traditional Ferrite magnet.
Candlenut plywood is used for strength, lightness and its beneficial acoustic proprieties, creating a roadworthy cabinet that sounds great and will last a lifetime.
Combining modern SMPS technology for lightweight and universal voltage compatibility with the classic feel and response of traditional iron-core transformers, this innovation is poised to set new benchmarks for valve amplification.
