Bamboo U-23 Latin New Generation Culture Line Concert Ukulele

A concert ukulele that sounds fuller than a soprano and looks like a piece of art. The Bamboo U-23 Latin is a concert-size ukulele from Bamboo’s New Generation series, Culture Line: artwork that celebrates famous places and cultural heritage from around the world. It suits beginners who want an easy start and players who want a stylish second instrument.

Why customers choose it

• Comfortable concert size: 15 in (about 38 cm) scale and 18 frets – a little more room between frets than a soprano, so chords are easier for adult hands.
• Wood body: Sapele top, back and sides, with a walnut fingerboard.
• Bone nut and saddle: both are ox bone, not plastic.
• Good strings and tuners: Aquila nylon strings fitted from the maker; open-gear tuners to keep it in tune.
• Ready to carry: a bag is included, as stated by Bamboo.

Who it is for

Beginners of all ages, teenagers and adults who find a soprano too small, singers who strum along at home or on stage, school and college music clubs, and players who want a good-looking ukulele for videos and gigs.

Specifications

Good to know

• New nylon strings stretch for the first few days – retune often until they settle.
• Standard ukulele tuning is G-C-E-A; a clip-on tuner makes it quick. Concert size uses concert ukulele strings when you restring.
• This is an acoustic model: it has no pickup or EQ, so to play through a speaker you need a microphone.
