I bought this hardcase to protect my Walden Grand Auditorium G550RE acoustic guitar from the high humidity that is prevalent in my area.Quality:The quality of the hardcase is very good, though I deducted a star as the aluminium valance doesn’t close properly at the handle area.Observation on the airtightness:After the room relative humidity was reduced to 46% using the dry mode of the air-conditioner, with the guitar case open, the air-conditioner was switched off and the hardcase closed with a hygrometer kept inside. On opening the hardcase a little after the twelfth hour, it was noticed that relative humidity had increased to 59% (reading on the hygrometer inside the hardcase).Conclusion:The quality of the hardcase, apart from the valance not closing properly at the handle area, is very good.Its airtightness is not good, as the valance doesn’t close properly at the handle area, due to which the relative humidity within the hardcase doesn’t remain on the lower side for a longer period of time.As I mentioned earlier, I bought this hardcase to protect my acoustic guitar from the high humidity that’s prevalent in my area. From my observation on the airtightness of the hardcase, its important to use a D’Addario two way humidipak to maintain humidity levels between 45Rh to 55Rh to protect an acoustic guitar.
