Capturing immersive audio with precision and clarity is essential for professionals working in film production, virtual reality, game development, or any project demanding spatial sound accuracy. The Voyage Audio Spatial Mic USB is designed to meet these exacting needs, delivering an unparalleled multi-channel audio experience that brings environments to life with breathtaking realism. If you require detailed, high-fidelity spatial recordings that integrate seamlessly into your digital workflow, this microphone system offers a compelling solution.

Traditional microphones often fall short in capturing the full depth and directionality of sound, especially in complex acoustic environments. The Voyage Audio Spatial Mic USB addresses this challenge by featuring an 8-transducer array capable of recording eight distinct audio channels simultaneously. This multi-channel capability means you can capture a full spherical sound field, which is essential for creating immersive binaural or ambisonic audio experiences. The ability to stream these eight channels directly to your audio host via USB-C or output them through ADAT Lightpipe provides the flexibility to integrate with various professional audio devices and software, streamlining your recording process.

One of the standout features is the microphone’s high dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio, with an ADC offering 110 dB SNR per channel and a DAC with 108 dB SNR. In practical terms, this translates to crystal-clear sound capture with minimal background noise, enabling you to record subtle ambient sounds and loud sources with equal fidelity. The microphone can handle sound pressure levels up to 131 dB SPL in pad mode without distortion, allowing for versatile use in diverse environments—from quiet studios to live concerts. The 64-element frequency-dependent output filter matrix within the Spatial Mic Converter plugin further refines the audio, ensuring a balanced and natural sound profile tailored to each individual microphone capsule.

Physically, the Spatial Mic is crafted with durability and portability in mind. Constructed from a combination of aluminum and nylon, it weighs just over half a pound and measures 6.75 inches in height with a diameter of 2.125 inches, making it easy to position and transport during field recordings. The microphone is USB bus-powered via USB-C or can be powered externally via micro-USB, which adds flexibility depending on your recording environment. Additionally, the headphone output provides 130 mW into 16 ohms through a standard 3.5 mm jack, allowing for direct live binaural monitoring with Google Resonance HRTFs or mid-side monitoring modes. This feature is invaluable for real-time assessment of spatial audio capture, reducing the need for extensive post-processing.

The Voyage Audio Spatial Mic USB is compatible with a wide range of digital audio workstations that support multi-channel audio tracks, including Reaper, Pro Tools Studio, Cubase Pro, Logic Pro, and Nuendo. The included Spatial Mic Converter plugin and control apps are compatible with macOS 10.11 and later, as well as Windows 10, ensuring a smooth integration into your existing setup. Whether you are recording virtual reality soundscapes, immersive film audio, or complex environmental ambiences, this system provides the professional tools necessary to achieve your creative goals with ease.
