Warm, rich 60s fuzz that behaves itself on a modern pedalboard. The VOX VFZ-1 Fuzz is based on the classic two-transistor fuzz of the late 60s often called the Mk 1.5. VOX used two carefully biased Silicon transistors to get the warm Germanium-style sound without the noise and temperature problems.
Why customers choose it
- Vintage fuzz, modern stability: two premium Silicon transistors biased to interact like the best Mk 1.5 circuits.
- Shape your fuzz: Bass Cut tightens the low end for humbuckers or rhythm work; Tone Cut smooths harsh highs or gives the classic violin tone.
- Crunch switch: gets the low-gain overdrive sound of a vintage fuzz with the guitar volume rolled back, without touching the guitar.
- Place it anywhere: high input impedance keeps your tone and lets it work after wah pedals or buffers.
- Quiet: exceptionally low noise for a fuzz.
Who it is for
Classic rock, psychedelic, blues and indie guitarists, and players who want a fuzz that cleans up well and sits nicely with other pedals.
