For professionals seeking exceptional vocal clarity and rugged reliability in a microphone, the Telefunken M 80 Red Dynamic Microphone offers a compelling solution. Whether you are performing live on stage, recording in a studio, or podcasting, this microphone is engineered to deliver crisp, clear sound that cuts through any mix. Its design addresses common challenges such as feedback, background noise, and distortion, making it an ideal choice for those who demand professional-grade audio quality with durability.

One of the standout features of the Telefunken M 80 Red is its supercardioid polar pattern. This means the microphone is highly directional, picking up sound predominantly from the front while rejecting noise from the sides and rear. For the user, this translates into reduced ambient noise and feedback, especially in live settings where stage monitors and crowd noise can interfere. The focused pickup pattern ensures your voice or instrument remains clear and prominent, even in acoustically challenging environments.

At the heart of the M 80 is a 25 mm dynamic moving coil capsule paired with the TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik T80 transformer. This combination is noteworthy because it delivers a warm yet detailed sound character, capturing the nuances of your voice or instrument without harshness. The transformer enhances the microphone’s ability to handle high sound pressure levels up to 135 dB with only 1% total harmonic distortion, meaning it can handle loud sources without distortion, preserving the integrity of your sound. This is especially valuable for singers or instrumentalists who perform with dynamic intensity.

The frequency response range of 50 Hz to 18 kHz with a tolerance of ±3 dB ensures that the microphone captures a wide spectrum of audio frequencies, from deep lows to sparkling highs. For the user, this means a natural and full-bodied sound that faithfully reproduces your performance, whether it’s a rich vocal tone or a resonant instrument. The sensitivity rating of 1.54 mV/Pa with ±1 dB accuracy ensures the microphone is responsive enough to pick up subtle details without requiring excessive gain from your audio interface or mixer.

In terms of practical considerations, the M 80 Red is built for comfort and durability. Measuring 184 mm in length and 48 mm in diameter, it is ergonomically designed for easy handling during performances. Weighing 430 grams, it strikes a balance between substantial build quality and manageable weight, reducing fatigue during extended use. The robust construction ensures it can withstand the rigors of touring and frequent use without compromising performance.

This microphone is perfectly suited for a variety of professional applications including live vocals, broadcast, recording studios, and even public speaking engagements. Its ability to reject unwanted noise and deliver clear, distortion-free sound makes it a versatile tool for vocalists, musicians, and audio engineers who require reliability and sonic excellence. The distinctive red finish also adds a touch of professional style on stage or in the studio.

In summary, the Telefunken M 80 Red Dynamic Microphone offers a blend of precise sound capture, rugged build, and user-focused features that provide real benefits to professionals. With its supercardioid pattern, premium transformer, wide frequency response, and high maximum SPL handling, it ensures your voice or instrument stands out with clarity and impact. Investing in this microphone means securing a trusted partner for your audio needs that performs consistently at a high level, making it a confident choice for serious audio professionals.
