For audio professionals and enthusiasts seeking unparalleled vocal clarity and robust sound capture, the Telefunken M 80 Copper Microphone stands out as an exceptional choice. In environments where precision and reliability are non-negotiable, this dynamic microphone offers a superior solution for live performances, studio recordings, and broadcast applications. Its design focuses on delivering a clear, natural sound while minimizing background noise, making it ideal for capturing every nuance of the human voice with remarkable accuracy.

One of the key advantages of the Telefunken M 80 Copper lies in its supercardioid polar pattern. This focused pickup pattern means the microphone is highly directional, capturing sound primarily from the front while rejecting unwanted ambient noise from the sides and rear. For the user, this translates to enhanced vocal isolation and reduced feedback risk during live performances or noisy environments, ensuring that the intended sound source remains crisp and prominent.

At the heart of this microphone is a 25 mm dynamic moving coil capsule paired with the TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik T80 transformer. This combination provides a smooth frequency response from 50 Hz to 18 kHz within a tight ±3 dB range, preserving the natural tone of vocals and instruments without coloration. The transformer’s design ensures consistent output levels and low distortion, so users can rely on a clear, high-fidelity signal even at high sound pressure levels.

Sensitivity and handling of loud sound are critical for any dynamic microphone, and the M 80 Copper excels here with a sensitivity rating of 1.54 mV/Pa and a maximum sound pressure level (SPL) of 135 dB at 1% total harmonic distortion. This means it can capture both soft nuances and powerful vocals or instruments without distortion, offering versatility across various recording and live sound situations. The output impedance of 325 ohms ensures compatibility with a wide range of preamps and audio interfaces, maintaining signal integrity.

Measuring 184 mm in length with a diameter of 48 mm and weighing 430 grams, the Telefunken M 80 Copper is ergonomically designed for comfortable handheld use while providing durability for rigorous touring or studio sessions. The copper finish not only adds aesthetic appeal but also contributes to the microphone’s rugged construction, making it a reliable tool for professionals who demand consistency and longevity from their equipment.

This microphone is perfectly suited for vocalists, broadcasters, and sound engineers who require a microphone that can perform impeccably both on stage and in studio settings. Whether you are capturing a lead vocal, spoken word, or instrument, the M 80 Copper’s precise sound reproduction and noise rejection capabilities will deliver a clean, polished audio experience that enhances the overall production quality.
