SPL Madison Madi Overview

The Madison MADI Interface by SPL is a MADI interface with 16 inputs and 16 outputs. It supports SPL analog sound on any MADI-equipped digital console, router, or PC MADI card.

With 16 input and 16 output channels in a single rack area, the Madison combines signal conversion with dependable clock and MADI processing. And, as a real SPL device, it is meant to be simple to use, expandable, and, of course, a great-sounding conversion system.

Madison’s I/O equipment simplifies the integration of professional analog gear into bigger multichannel systems. With four popular reference levels, operational sampling rates ranging from 44.1 to 192 kHz, multicore analog I/O, fiber MADI I/O, and word clock I/O, the Madison fits almost anywhere.

Up to four units can be linked to a single MADI port on a digital console, a MADI PC card, or any other professional audio routing system. The MADI port provides near-zero-latency digital transmission of up to 64 I/Os with galvanic shielding. And, because MADI is the developing new studio I/O standard, the Madison interface is appropriate for home and project studios, commercial recording studios, and score stages.

MADI

Broadcast and live professionals have depended on the still-unrivaled MADI for almost two decades; with jitter-free, rock-solid transmission of several audio channels per one cable, as well as low-cost cabling with lengths well exceeding one mile, MADI simply provides unique benefits.

Madison

SPL focuses on analog, and competent converter technology needs a suitable analog foundation. This is where a genuine difference may be produced. The business created an analog audio section on 36V audio rails, with output levels of 24 dB. With its simple operation and flexible extension, the Madison is a great interface for anybody interested in the benefits of the MADI format.

In the demanding world of professional audio production, accuracy and reliability in sound conversion are paramount. The SPL Audio Madison rackmount AD/DA converter offers a high-performance solution for studios and audio engineers who require pristine, transparent audio conversion across multiple channels. Whether you’re working on music production, post-production, or live sound, the Madison ensures that every nuance of your audio signal is preserved, empowering you to make critical decisions with confidence.

Converting analog signals to digital and back again without compromising quality is a challenge that the Madison meets with exceptional precision. Featuring 16 channels of analog-to-digital conversion and 16 channels of digital-to-analog conversion, this unit provides extensive I/O capabilities suitable for complex setups. What does this mean for you? It allows seamless integration with large-format consoles, digital audio workstations, and MADI-equipped systems, enabling efficient workflow and eliminating bottlenecks caused by limited channel counts or compatibility issues.

One of the standout features of the SPL Madison is its maximum sampling rate of 192 kHz at 24-bit resolution. This high-resolution capability ensures that your recordings capture the full frequency range and dynamic detail of your source material, allowing for superior audio fidelity and more flexibility during mixing and mastering. The converter’s dynamic range of 115 dB on both analog inputs and outputs guarantees an exceptionally low noise floor, which translates into cleaner, clearer sound and greater headroom, crucial for professional environments where subtle audio details matter.

Connectivity is streamlined through the Madison’s MADI interface, which includes a duplex SC-Plug optical connection for both input and output, as well as support for coaxial MADI formats. This versatility means you can easily connect the Madison to a broad array of digital audio networks without the need for additional adapters or converters, simplifying setup and reducing latency. Additionally, the unit’s channel separation of 110 dB ensures that crosstalk between channels is virtually nonexistent, preserving the integrity of multi-channel recordings and mixes.

Weighing just 3.5 kilograms and housed in a robust rackmount form factor, the Madison is designed to fit neatly into professional studio racks or mobile racks for location recording. Its compact size and durable build quality make it a reliable workhorse for both permanent installations and touring rigs alike.
