This is one of the ORIGINAL companies when it comes to MIDI,so you know you can’t go wrong when Roland’s brand name is on MIDI related products and accessories.The build quality of these are exceptional and they give a firm and secure fit to the port.Now, being an experienced professional, I know the difference between MIDI cables and a DIN cables. Unfortunately these obscure amazon import brands, don’t, but just use the word MIDI because they think a 5 pin plug is a 5 pin plug, regardless of wiring or cable used.For those that are curious, MIDI cables are directly wired pin to pin (1 to 1, 2 to 2,3 to 3,etc). DIN cables can be wired in a whole manner of different ways, further more, they use audio cable rather than cable suitable for data (they have a different resistance, which in turn can affect data transmission, drop outs and even sync issues). So, always check they’re actually MIDI cables.Alternatively, save yourself the headache and get these* Additional Help For The Amateurs *Although MIDI specifications state it’s maximum travel distance is 15 metres, I highly recommend that you don’t use a cable any longer than 6 meters. A high percentage of users start to experience problems once they go above this length.Of course if you have a means to “boost” the signal, yes you can go longer, but from one MIDI device to another, 6 meters or below for error free, peace if mind.
