Buen anti viento hasta 25 km/hora.
Muy buen parabrisas y antiviento. Pero cuando en exterior el viento pasa de 30 km/hora aprox se cuelan los malditos ruidos tan indeseados. Es cuestión de mirar el tiempo (si no tienes otra cosa) y trabajar en función del viento que hará durante el dÃa. Sà tienes un dÃa que el viento pasa de 27 o 30km/hora mejor rueda en interior, pero en general cumple muy bien su función.

The Deadcat is a waste of money, get this
Ok I got the deadcat 4 years ago and I boy was I dissapointed. Works in light winds but still picks up a WOOSH here and there. Thankfully this thing has dropped in price. It’s WAY better. Great examples of it on youtube. If you already own a deadcat, I’d recommend figuring out how to wrap it around some tougher foam. There are examples of how to make cheap windscreen but if yo ualready ahve the deadcat material which is probably better than what you can get at walmart, than you are 90% there. Anyway if you don’t have any windscreen, get this. It’s GREAT.

Filtert zuverlässig auch das Rauschen in der Waschmaschine
Der Røde Windschutz WS-6 ist so ein Teil, über das man sich erst einmal beim Kauf ärgert, dass es so teuer ist. So ein kleines Teil für über 40 Euro zu verkaufen ist schon recht fordernd. Zudem bleibt es bei vielen Kameraeinsätzen einfach im Rucksack, da man es meistens gar nicht braucht. Wenn man es jedoch braucht, dann ist es plötzlich unbezahlbar, wenn man einen vernünftigen Ton aufnehmen will. Bei mir war dies das erste Mal in Innsbruck auf der Skischanze der Fall. Ein wirklich kräftiger Wind wehte dort oben und ich wollte unbedingt die Stimmung der Sportler aufnehmen. Wie gut, dass ich an diesem Tag den Windschutz dabei hatte und ich hierdurch den Live Ton aufnehmen konnte. Mit dem Standardschaumstoff hätte ich ansonsten nur ein Windrauschen im Ton gehabt.Seitdem habe ich bei vielen weiteren Einsätze (auch bei sehr starkem Wind z.B. am Strand) mit dem Windschutz gearbeitet. Die Tonaufnahmen waren bis zum heutigen Zeitpunkt immer exzellent bei einer minimalen Dämpfung. Windgeräusche sind quasi nicht wahrnehmbar. Lediglich das Eingangssignal an der Kamera habe ich teilweise leicht nach oben korrigiert.Bei der Verwendung mit einem Røde NTG4 ist zu beachten, dass im Weitwinkel der Kamera eventuell ein paar Franzen des Windschutzes im Bild zu sehen sind. Bei mir ist dies nur minimal. Man sollte dies vorab selber einmal bei seiner Kamera testen. Des Weiteren werden die Knöpfe (z.B. zur Dämpfung) des Mikrofones durch den Windschutz verdeckt, da dieser recht lang ist. Versehentlich aktiviert habe ich jedoch noch nie einen der Druckknöpfe bei der Nutzung des Windschutzes.Jetzt kommen wir noch in die Rubrik „Machen Sie das niemals nach!“:Leider ist mir mein Windschutz bei einem Wechsel auf den Standardschutz in den Dreck (Pfütze) geflogen. Daraufhin habe ich den Windschutz zuerst zu Hause getrocknet, den ersten Dreck abgekämmt und ihn anschließend in die Waschmaschine in einem Wäschesack gesteckt und gewaschen. Danach habe ich den Windschutz erneut im Wäschekeller getrocknet, ihn noch einmal gebürstet und er ist absolut wieder top. Das hätte ich nicht erwartet.Daher mein Fazit: „Hält mehr, als es verspricht und ist auch für den robusten Einsatz (auch in der Waschmaschine) voll geeignet.

Really impressive at killing wind noise in low wind. Make sure to add a top end boost as this muffles the higher frequencies slightly – a know pro tip when using dead cats. If you’re looking for total wind isolation in windy conditions i would reccomend the Blimp, but this is great if you’re on a budget.

Saves the day in wind
Waited until I’d used this before reviewing. Wind was about 20 knots today, utterly impossible to use a clip-on lav mic – it was just constant wind noise in the headphones – unsavable. We popped a Rode NTG-2 into one of these, kept it just-out-of-shot about 50cm away, and wow, it actually worked. A bit of low frequency rumble (wind side on), but it was an easy post production step to remove it. The shield grips around the mic and holds exactly as you’d expect. Pretty essential item to have on standby.
