Battery won’t charge out of the box — here’s what to do
Like many, I was unable to charge / turn on the rode mic. After some frustration and research, learned this is a common issue with setup, but it’s very easy to fix. Here’s what you have to do:1 – On your laptop, download and install: Rode Central — it’s available on the Rode website2 – Run the software, and plug your rode gear into your laptop (USB C to USB A).3 – I’ll the top left of window, click settings, and then “Factory Reset”4 – Follow the instructions to factory reset both pieces (trasmitter and receiver).Voila, the factory reset has brought the firmware is up to date. You will now be able to charge and turn on your Rode devices. Hope this helps.
