The RØDE M3 is a highly versatile end-address condenser microphone, designed to be completely at home in the studio, on stage or on location. It is equally suitable as an instrument microphone for guitars, drums and percussion or even vocals.
Featuring a heavy duty metal body and internally shock mounted 1/2 inch condenser capsule mounted for end-address, the M3 can be powered either via P48 phantom power, or an internal 9V battery.
A -10dB and -20dB level attenuator (pad), selectable from inside the battery compartment, allows recording of loud sound sources, such as a guitar amplifier or snare drum. A high-pass filter selectable on the microphone power switch introduces a filter at 80Hz to reduce low frequency sounds and handling noise.

I use it as a boom microphone (setup on an elgato wave mic boom arm) for my client meetings, business presentations and recording talking head videos

Suberb product. But if you have a bigger budget go for AKG P170.

Very good microphone… But the packaging provided by the seller was not up to the mark. The mic is very good for recording n playing live Tabla.
Johny Mandovi –
Not the full sound of condensers that I am used to, but decent enough.

for me it is best….for rap.songs
subhrajyoti sen –
This mic is great for recording acoustic instruments & can be used live also as it is a small diaphragm condenser and receives less ambient noise

Very versatile – decent sounding microphone
There really is very little to dislike about this microphone. It sounds very reasonable (I’m mainly using it for general recording). It is quite sensitive, well built and a very reasonable price. It can run on phantom power or a PP3 battery – which is very handy for outdoor/location recording. As great as many condenser microphones are – if they need phantom power then you are pretty much tied to a mains powered set-up. The battery option on this mic doesn’t seem to degrade the signal and gives you much more flexibility. The microphone seems very well put-together, has a built-in high-pass filter and pads, A very good all-rounder. I’ve used it to record everything from classical guitars to violins, cello, harpsichord. It gives a very reasonable recording for most instruments – and certainly where you need portability. It works very well in conjunction with the RØDE wireless go transmitter unit.

Tres bon micro
