First Reaction to Mooer Hornet Black.
Clorox wipes container for scale: This thing cooks!! I have briefly played through every preset amp (dial in front) and am not disappointed with any of them!! All of the bells and whistles like: modulation, chorus and reverb work excellent and all 3 of the EQ channels +Gain and Volume respond quickly and intuitively. None of the effects seem forced or overly digitized just like the amp models. I will be posting a more comprehensive review with a video in a week or so. Right now as far as desktop amps go, you can’t go wrong with Mooers Hornet. I used my MusicMan Cutlass to demo; I will be using LP’s, Teles’ and acoustics on subsequent videos.

Compact little amp with plenty of features
I bought this amp for my home office desk. I wanted to be able to leave it out at all times. This way i can plug in and play even for just 15 minutes. It is perfect for that!Great tones and effects for this size amp. I utilize some Sony headphones so I don’t disturb the wife or kids. BONUS is the blue tooth speaker so I connect my smartphone or our family’s blue tooth enabled record player. The speaker itself isn’t super crisp. You will notice that more so with the Bluetooth feature, but less so with your guitar playing. There are only 2 clean amp settings and then 5 crunchier amp settings. Just be aware of that. But for me, being able to toggle between the clean and overdriven amp models, is perfect. This is my first purchase of a MOOER product. I will definitely look into more products from them.

Cool Design but…
A great little amp by design and the number of tones you can get, but the guitar amp market is very competitive today and it takes more than just good looks and a bunch of features to win me over. Every guitarist is looking for tone quality, not quantity. That is where this amp falls short. If you have limited funds, it is better to invest more in the amp than into the guitar because a great amp can make a cheap guitar sound good, but a great guitar played though a cheap amp will never sound right. And as a beginner, you are training your ear, so sound quality (tone) should still be important to you. An amp like the Boss Mini 7 has better tone and is in the same price range for a starter practice amp. Yes, fewer features but better tone and more compact. To help you decide, look for an amp with over 1000 reviews and with 4.5 stars or more.

Mooer crushes it
for the price this crushes most other small modeling amps like line 6, katana, etc. Peavey vypyr x1 may be a bit better in tone but its a bigger speaker and has no bluetooth. Mooer Hornet is an excellent practice amp I’d like to own them all
