    Very Happy!
I use this with my older iPad Air 2nd Gen, and I leave my aftermarket cover on the iPad (it’s a thin cover). It fits great, is easy to get in and out and feels very secure. I use this a couple of times a week for our church services, and it’s held up great for the past 6 weeks or so.

Caveat Emptor – Amazon Offers 2 Products in 1 Listing
I ordered the item “Sold by Audiotopia” expecting a unit that screws into the end of a mic stand. Instead I received Gator Model # GFW-UTL-TBLTCLMP which clamps to the shaft of a mic stand. Amazon was great about offering a refund and emailing me a shipping label. This was not a warehouse picking error, but a problem with Amazon cataloging 2 different items in 1 listing. If you order, here’s how to ensure you get the correct product:Note that there are 4 Amazon vendors who sell this item. Put one from each in your cart. Now view your cart and carefully examine the picture next to each line. Note that 1 of the 4 pictures is different from the others. The picture next to the “Audiotopia” unit shows a clamp-on style. That’s Gator Model # GFW-UTL-TBLTCLMP, which is not the SKU advertised by Amazon. If you order this one, as I did, you’ll be invoiced for a screw-mount but receive the clamp-mount, as pictured in your cart. The other 3 pics depict the screw-mount model, Gator Model # GFW-UTL-TBLTMNT. I’ve since reordered thru one of these vendors and received the advertised item, with which I am happy. Both products that I received appear to be of extremely high quality. The spring-loaded fingers snap securely onto my Lenovo S2109 tablet (nearly identical to iPad2 in shape and weight), but removal is quick and easy. The product is easy to adjust and stays where you put it. I think my tablet is safe while attached to these products, unless the entire stand tips over.Note that if you’re mounting to a boom, your tablet is pretty heavy, and unless you put more weight on the base of the stand or add an additional counterweight to the boom, you risk a tipover in some circumstances. For myself I’ve dropped a small weightlifting disk around the shaft at the base of the mic stand, and ordered a 6-pound counterwieght to supplement the little weight on my cheap boom. Also, the weight of the tablet causes issues with the length-adjustment screw on my telescoping cheap boom, requiring a cheap physical alteration to the boom, to stop the shaft from turning. If you need something for an iPad Mini, get something else, as this would not adjust small enough.I’ve spoken with Amazon Customer Service about the cataloguing issue described herein. However as of Aug 13, 2013 I see no change in the website. So, like I said, put one of each in your cart, and select from the pictures you see in the cart. Let me know if you fail to see the discrepancy, and I’ll promptly pull down this review. Good luck.

    I Don’t Recommend
It seems to be of good quality when arrived, but then I tried to use it.I have the iPad Air, and here are the issues:(1) the grips only grip the top and bottom in the portrait position, but the sides are too wide apart to do anything;(2) the bottom grip is not a “grip” as it has no “teeth”, which means pressing the “Home” button could means your iPad will be flying;(3) the bottom of the mount (that attach the grip to a mic stand) has very limited position (roughly 90 degrees), which means the “bottom” (the grip with no teeth) has no chance of rotating to switch it to the top;(4) it does NOT rotate to allow it to be in a landscape mode.It is almost utterly awful AND useless.

  5. Ric

    Nice holder.
Works great for iPad gens 1-4. IPad Air does not fit snug, only 3 sides touch it. Easy to insert and remove iPad and holds it secure.
