Gorgeous guitar but odd buzz couldn’t be fixed.
This guitar arrived in perfect condition and looked great. There was a really odd buzz on the high E string, however – it sounded like a sitar. I’m amazed that nobody noticed it before the instrument left the factory. I have had Telecasters before but I just couldn’t get rid of that buzz. I may be wrong but my guess is that the nut was cut incorrectly – the high E string slot was very deep. I’m thankful for Amazon’s return policy but it’s a bummer, as I really wanted to keep this guitar. The finish was great, the frets seemed perfect, and the thick neck was awesome. I couldn’t live with that high E buzz, though, as the sound was irritating and of course the sustain was short. The other problem was the jack to hold the instrument cord – it was really weak and the slightest tug on the cord pulled it out of the guitar. I think that could have been fixed but, again, I wish it had been noticed before it left the factory.
