Perfect for studio work
These earphones are great if you have big ears, which I have. I am a broadcaster and use them in a radio conty studio and really appreciate the comfort this affords me. Big plus for big ear-cups! Of course all the other aspects are great too, it’s clear, honest and plays loud without feeling distorted. I personally need it loud to modulate my vocal.

Amazing Sound Quality | Timeless Design | Very Sturdy | Amp is requried
After spending many hours researching the world of high-end headphones I finally settled on the Beyerdynamic DT150 Headphones. I have fond memories of using the older DT100s when I was in a band and the DT150 are identical in design. It is worth noting I purchased these headphones for listening to music in work (an office environment).Scroll to the bottom for a summary.Design:Personally I love the sturdy box-shape of these headphones! They are classic and have absolutely no need to change, they have proven the test of time over decades of studio use. Beyerdynamic rightly opted for a subtle dark grey than the off-white the DT100s offer. I really like the way the headphones look. They arrive extremely well packaged in a simple Beyerdynamic branded box. The cable comes in a nice resealable bag too.Build Quality:This is where Beyerdynamic have it spot on; these headphones feel astoundingly well-made. The speaker casing is a solid formed plastic that will undoubtedly survive even the most demanding studio environments. The cable is extremely thick and arrives disconnected from the right headphone. You’ll need to plug the cable in and use a small screwdriver to tighten the locking screw – this design means that the cable is held in well and that pulling it will put strain on the locking screw, not the connector at the end.The same locking screws are used to secure the cable from the right speaker to the left; it is threaded through the headband which is then wrapped in a cushioned piece of material that is fastened using buttons. The result is a very secure cable that is also hidden away. Each speaker is mounted to a thick metal strip which is moulded into the top section, they can be removed by the two locking screws clamping them to the metal. Because of this, each speaker can be adjusted in height quite dramatically, I imagine to deal with being used by various people in a studio environment. It should be noted that you can buy spare parts for literally every component of these headphones. They are extremely conformable; they cling tightly without applying too much pressure.Sound Quality:This is always a tricky area and what I may consider to be good, you may not. Beyerdynamic claim to have made these to be as close to DT100s as possible while increasing bass. In my opinion they provide plenty of low-end and I can hear parts of music that would otherwise go unnoticed, however, they under perform when it comes to sub bass. (This can be remedied to an extent using an EQ)The sound stage on these are great, I can hear every instrument clearly and it sounds very deep; I can imagine for gaming that these will fully immerse you.As designed for studio use, I love how these headphones are completely neutral. By that I mean they do not interfere with the sound at all by trying to add bass or vibrancy. What you hear is pure and unchanged.I listen to many genres of music but the biggest improvement I’ve noticed since buying these would be metal. Songs that used to sound too noisy and “messy” now sound great! All too often would I notice guitars merging nastily with the drums (especially kicks) that was simply unpleasant. Now I can hear how each instrument compliments each other as the artists wanted them to be heard. One thing I didn’t think about when buying headphones was noise isolation. I work in an open plan office and as soon as these arrived I was worried that people would be able to hear what I’m listening to. Thankfully after testing it out with my colleagues, nothing can be heard once they are on. I can still hear background noise when wearing these but it muffles them to a satisfactory level.I’ve been using these for daily since April and they are just fantastic! I have them paired with an FiiO – E10K DAC and Amplifier which drives them just fine.To summarise:Pros:- Great sound stage- Untainted frequency reproduction- Awesome design- Highly durable- Replaceable parts- Very comfortableCons:- Supplied cable is VERY long (I bought a shorter one online)- You WILL need an amp (not a con as much as a warning)I truly believe that these headphones are up there with the best in terms of sound quality and price. I highly recommend them! Please vote if you found my review helpful or not; it helps me to write better reviews!

Sonido excelso

Home.
Beautiful, organic, lush. I can’t really express how well this can makes music a visceral experience in a way very few headphones do. It’s certainly counter to the presentation of a lot of modern hifi– it’s balanced to my ear– it’s not neurotically extracting detail (though I never don’t hear something new when I use them even on familiar recordings), it’s not driving subbass to impress (though it does have the capacity to make ENORMOUS bass if it’s there), it’s not trying to attain bat-ear treble (though I’ve heard it characterized as a ‘dark’ headphone, which it isn’t). What it is is aiming at a good balanced presentation of musical information with adequate weight with detail that comes out of the recording. To my ear, a lot of cans seem to be trying to impress.. at first, i put the DT150s on coming from Beyer 770pros, and found them pretty mid-centric, and maybe even a little dull- but adjusting for a couple of days, I MUCH prefer the 150s. I also have Grado SR80s and my cheapie work cans– Audio Technica M20s- and it isn’t that any of those are outright imbalanced or bad sounding headphones– I just find the balance, heft, and drive addictive on the DT150’s, and I find myself WANTING to listen more, whereas I’m always glad to listen to music on any of the others, but I don’t want to just park it and dig through my favorite recordings to the same extent, and really, isn’t that the point?I also use these for recording and mixing music, and their great isolation and non fatiguing sound is super helpful in that regard. There are days they live on my head for a LONG time. And somehow, I’ll put them right back on and listen more. Having a reliable sonic reference is SO valuable in the context of engineering, and I’ve really come to rely on these as just that– not only are they a great tool, but i also LIKE to listen on them. Are they goofy looking? Sure. Are the earpads sticky hot and uncomfortable? Not in my experience- but maybe a little bit. Are they hard to drive? I sure don’t think so, but I have amplifiers, so don’t expect a lot of volume out of a phone. It’s not from an era of underpowered Iphones. But neither am I.I will say though, that I really do think that these cans work much better for people who listen louder than softer. They really do seem to benefit from some volts across the terminals– so if you’re a quiet classical listener and detail extraction at mouse volume is your bag– they may not suit you nearly as well as some of the hyper detailed cans out there. But if, like me, you listen with some volume… these will take anything you throw at them with aplomb and give you a great listening experience if the Beyer house sound is something you love. I definitely do, and suspect these will be going nowhere until they eventually expire, after which they’ll be immediately replaced with another pair.

Good Quality Headphones
Using these for monitoring in my home studio. Good quality fairly neutral headphones. Also very good when recording vocals as they don’t bleed very much noise in or out. Prefer them to my Sony MDR-7506’s for overall quality of sound. They are a bit heavy and not great for wearing over a long timeframe, but that takes quite a while. Realistically, if they start to feel uncomfortable, it’s probably time you gave your ears a rest anyway!
