10 reviews for Behringer Pro Mixer NOX101 2-Channel DJ Mixer

I got this mixer to use for my vinyl turntables. Before this mixer I had the Numark M2. Both are great mixers. I prefer the Behringer now. This is a basic two-channel mixer with three band EQ, cue control slider and mic control. No built in FX.The built-in preamp is stronger and sounds better than the Numark. I also like the dials for the EQ as they have rubber grips. All the sliders and dials feel nice and sturdy. The crossfader is super smooth and has a dial to adjust the curve unlike on the Numark. The Behringer also has a curve adjustment on each channel to adjust where the volume comes in on each fader. One thing that the Numark has that the Behringer doesn’t is a cue for the master. This however will boost the volume by about 20%, some people may dislike that.I usually DJ with one ear open so I can always hear the master. If you need a two-channel mixer and are debating between the two, you really can’t go wrong with either one. I would consider them both entry to mid level at the same price and size. However, having used both, I definitely recommend the Behringer now. It has a higher sound and build quality in my opinion. Definitely better for scratching.

I picked this up for $80. This thing would do just fine as a starter mixer for those learning how to DJ, or for those who are carrying around a couple speakers and a microphone doing wedding gigs. Also great for folks at home who just want an easy way to switch between audio outputs and inputs or play things simultaneously, and prefer sliders to the knob-only design of a non-dj mixer. It’s also hard to find a mixer that does XLR out, yet isn’t some 8+ channel beast. Still, this thing isn’t super compact at 10″x11″.The unit itself and all the knobs are sturdy, same feel as you get from a much more expensive mixer. The sliders are so-so, they do the job just fine but you’re probably not going to be doing much scratching. Nice positive clicks on the flick switches, all solid metal. Unit really goes a long ways and covers a lot of bases for its price point.

This is actually a great mixer. The crossfader is not at all stiff, I can scratch and cut with this mixer no problem. The price is on point, and the quality is great. I love that it has two options for output, RCA and 1/4 inch.I had one issue where the sound went dead on all channels. I turned it off for a day and un-plugged it, then it worked like normal. Hmmm. I mean, maybe a $1,000+ mixer wouldn’t do that, but the truth is, keeping your electronics turned off when you’re not using them will increase their lifespan significantly anyway, so just keep that in mind. Anyway, if your trying to connect two turntables (or anything else, really) on a budget, go for this one.

I got this mixer as a phono preamp for my Technics 1200 mk2 and I’m really happy with it. The build quality is top notch, has a little weight to it but IMO the level sliders can offer a little more resistance but thats just nitpicking. Where this mixer shines is in audio quality. I was surprised at how clean it sounds at this price but after all this is Behringer and they make great sounding audio equipment and this mixer is no different. If you’re on the fence about getting this mixer, just go ahead you wont regret it. I’m somewhat of an audiophile and if the sound quality was crap I wouldn’t have any issues returning it but it seems like I’m going to have this mixer for a long time!

  5. Jeff Blackburn

I love this mixer. I use it for my home audio needs as well as when I need to play music at gatherings. Works very well. I plug in a Brightech Bluetooth receiver and I’m good to go. Quality seems to be very good and the sound quality is great. A winner in my book!

  6. Keenan

Fader is a little stiff. I like the buttons. Seems pretty solid. I don’t understand why the fade curve is at the bottom of the mixer. It’s almost impossible to access if you have the mixer in a coffin. How would you change this in a live show? Poor design. Wish you could replace it with a light-fader. It seems like Behringer wants you to buy the NOX303 for $100 more to get it.

Unfortunately, none of the fader bars worked – neither volumes on either side, nor the cross. Now, there is a s-l-i-g-h-t possibility that I just didn’t have it set up right, for some reason – I mean the sound came through from both channels, but I think I might actually re-order another one, juuust to satisfy my curiosity.A beautiful piece of machinery, regardless. And although I couldn’t get them to work, the faders felt real smooth.

Nice clean mixer. No weird noises, works well, sounds nice. I picked it up to go with a small setup I use mostly just for wedding ceremonies. I’m so impressed that I’m looking at selling my 2 numarks mixers and getting a couple more Behringers for my other two systems.
