The POWERPLAY P16 system is the easy and affordable way to give live or recording musicians/vocalists what they really want – “more me!” Part of the P16 Personal Monitoring System, the P16-I input module can be used with any analog source, and convert up to 16 analog inputs into 24-bit digital audio to send to your P16-M Personal Monitoring Mixers. The P16-I is also equipped with ADAT optical inputs that auto-detect and give priority to incoming signals.

Fast and easy to set up, a basic system can be installed and configured in a matter of minutes – and the system can be expanded to adapt to changing needs. The POWERPLAY P16 Personal Monitoring System puts total control of the monitor mix into the artist’s hands, and when they can hear exactly what they want and need to hear – their best performance is unleashed!

ADAT-Ready

ADAT-Ready

The P16-I includes a 2 x 8-channel ADAT optical input with auto detect and priority select for use with our existing ADAT equipment. Additionally, 16 balanced, high-headroom TRS audio inputs can be employed to send audio from analog outputs to your P16-Ms. You can choose from 4 gain positions per channel via a convenient onboard switch, and visually monitor by means of the status LEDs on each channel. Sample rates of 44.1 or 48 kHz are supported by the digital inputs, providing ultra-low latency of less than 1 millisecond. Standard Cat 5e cabling delivers power and signals for up to 6 P16-M Personal Monitoring Mixers, or you can use the included external supplies with each P16-M. Plus, the P16-I features an internal auto-ranging power supply for maximum flexibility (100 – 240 V~), noise-free audio, superior transient response and low power consumption.

Installation

Easy Installation

A basic installation consists of one P16-I Input Module, which connects to the main mixing console and up to six P16-M Personal Mixers, creating a system big enough to equip a typical recording studio, small to medium-sized band or worship team. You’ll also need a few standard audio and Cat 5e cables. The optional P16-MB mounting bracket allows the P16-M Digital Personal Mixer to be attached to any standard microphone, music or drum stand. As many as six P16-D Digital ULTRANET Distributors can be added to your system to accommodate up to forty-eight P16-M Personal Mixers

    You get what you pay for. Glitchy.
    Should have known with Behringer. Lots of weird ghost glitchy issues. Have been trying to get customer support but it’s very difficult. Other than that the unit is good – but Behringer never delivers consistent quality. You get what you pay for.

    AWESOME
    We run a Soundcraft Series 2 40ch board. (Analog) and keep hearing from musicians that we need to get a digital board because they want to control their own mix. *Wah Wah Wah” (thats the Musicians crying). Listen I know so often we all have a musician that comes and plays every so often and talks about themselves playing at this venue and that venue and digital is the only way. Well if you dont like digital (Me) and dont want to spend over $8,000 moving everthing over to digital (Depends on your set up) this is the way to go. NOW THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER1. Does your Soundboard have direct outs for every channel. (Or at least the 16 chanels you will send to the P16-I) There are other ways around this but you would have to search your board and se what they are.2. Is your Soundboard Pre-Fade – Post-fade or can you contol which it does. This is important because if your can only “post fade”, when you fade down the house sound this will affect their in ear mix. Pre Fade is the way to go. In fact they can play while they are muted. House wont hear them, but they will still be going thru the P16-M3. You can go thru one “Junction box” Example: (My setup) I have my 16 Channels feeding the P16-I. From the P16-I I have a Cat 5 cable going to a “Internet switch box” from there I have 9 cat5 going 215 feet to my stage. from here It branches off to 9 different locations that I made plug recievers for in my mic snake box. So in theroy I could just take a 3 foot Cat wire and plug in my P16-M and plug it into the floor. (Hope that made sense). This doesn’t work, from my testing there is to much of a drop off of signal from the second plug in. I can however run the 215 feet line straight into P-16MHope this helps out.

    Works fine so far!
    I was as skeptical as anyone else would be buying a cheaper option to do what brands like Aviom does but I’m glad to report back that this works and works well. I’ll do a more thorough review of the actual P16M since this portion of the system just converts signal to “Ultranet”.
