1600-Watt 10-Channel Powered Mixer with Dual Multi-FX Processor and FBQ Feedback Detection System
The new BEHRINGER PMP Powered Mixers (2 x 800-Watt stereo, 1600-Watt bridged mode) produce even more power than their predecessors while maintaining a famously low weight and high efficiency. These mixers employ Class-D technology including a new switch-mode power supply, significantly reducing weight and heat. The 20-channel PMP6000 features 12 built-in XENYX preamps, the 16-channel PMP4000 features 8 built-in XENYX mic preamps, and the 10-Channel PMP1680S features 8 high-quality built-in mic preamps. All three models feature 24-bit FX processors and FBQ Feedback Detection.
Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps switch on and off thousands of times per second, delivering power only when needed. In other words, the amplifier is either fully on or fully off , which significantly reduces power losses from the output devices given off as heat. Less heat means our amps don’t need massive heat sinks, and that means we can make them lighter. Our no-compromise design means the new PMP mixers will deliver full power with incredible fidelity all night long, without the need for lengthy rest cycles.
When used in conjunction with switching-mode power supplies, which don’t require huge and heavy transformers, our Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous dynamic punch and superior fidelity. The resulting speaker systems are much lighter, making them easy to transport and set up.
Our latest PMP give you the choice of 2 x 800-Watt stereo, 2 x 800-Watt dual mono mode (giving you a mono version of the main signal through one powered output plus a mono version of all monitor send signals through the second powered input) or 1,600-Watt bridged mono sound. Whether the center of attention happens to be a folk trio, a speech, or a synth-rock band with mind-boggling stereo patches, PMP mixers can accommodate. This sonic versatility also makes it an excellent choice for churches, where vocals and stereo recordings often share face time.
Leave the mic preamps at home, because the quality of sound that was once only available in the studio is ready to go wherever you do. Built-in, boutique-caliber mic preamps with switchable +48 V phantom power make it possible to use either dynamic or condenser mics with the PMP Series. The PMP6000 gives you 12 mic inputs while the PMP4000 and PMP1680S each give you 8 mic inputs.
The new generation of PMP mixers come equipped with 24-bit FX processors, giving you 100 mind-blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus and reverb. Apply them to any channel, as well as to the monitors and main output. In case you’re pulling double duty as sound engineer and performer, the FX processors features a footswitch jack for remote on/off . Of course, if you have treasured outboard gear you’ve grown attached to, these mixers can integrate them into the mix while leaving out the built-in FX processor.
The PMP Series gives you excellent flexibility to accommodate whatever a performance requires. You get 12 (PMP6000) or 8 (PMP4000 and PMP1680S) channels for mics, guitars and other mono instruments. Stereo channels 13-20 (PMP6000), 9-16 (PMP4000) and 7-10 (PMP1680S) are designed to work in pairs as stereo channels, or independently for more mono instruments. All mono channels have 3-band EQ, switchable Low cut filter for eliminating infrasonics, and Clip LEDs to indicate when the input signal is too hot.
A STANDBY switch (PMP6000 and PMP1680S) mutes all mic channels during breaks, preventing the microphones from picking up noise or interference. You can leave all faders untouched while you play a CD via the CD/TAPE inputs.
The FBQ Feedback Detection system automatically shows you which frequencies are causing feedback. Just touch the FBQ button and watch the red LEDs on the 7-band graphic EQ pinpoint show you which frequencies to adjust for optimized sound, without the feedback.
Use the CD/TAPE IN RCA inputs to feed in external stereo signals from CD players or tape decks. The VOICE CANCELLER switch eliminates the vocals from pre-recorded music for instant karaoke applications.
CD/TAPE OUT RCA outputs send line-level signals from the mixer to a recording device. The left and right output ¼” connectors can be used for a variety of purposes, including connecting more power amps. Connect monitor power amps or active monitor speakers to the MON SOUND output. Powered outputs on these mixers are available in professional Speakon-compatible format.
Medium-sized events call for a lightweight (PMP6000: 13.1 kg/ 28.9 lbs; PMP4000: 0.4 kg/22.9 lbs; PMP1680S: 9.9 kg/28.8 lbs), easy-to-use powered mixer. BEHRINGER powered mixers are the most efficient, affordable mixers for the job, and are even suitable for use as pure analog mixers or as pure power amplfiers. With new technological advantages and incredible built-in features, it’s easier than ever to lend exceptional sound quality to all kinds of public performances.

I’ve been playing in bands for over 30 years. I have only used this PA live about 6-7 times so far.I have only used this for my two-piece jazz band. I haven’t used it for my rock band yet. I have used it to play outdoors but not at concert volume. I set it loud enough to fill a courtyard at a farmers market and for street performances.I use three channels: 1) electric piano, 2) electric bass, 3) upright bass. The basses are run thru bass heads then direct input into the board. Piano goes straight in.Really easy set up. Certainly loud enough for my purposes not even reaching halfway. I use one side for mains and one side for a monitor. You can go stereo, but lose the ability to have a monitor. I never use bridge mode on my PAs. You can get maximum volume, but I believe it stresses the equipment. Effects are good, but seldom used. I have several Behringer 212XL speakers I use as mains and monitors. I run an iPad for to run music for set breaks. Most of the negative reviews here are from people who do not know how to use a PA or those who fail to read the manual or take the time to get to know the equipment.Overall this is a good machine that does it’s job perfectly. It is lightweight, cheap, packed with all the necessary features, and is easy to use.

I have a medium mobile DJ Karaoke hobby. Meaning most of the time, I work for free. So it kills me to have to spend a butt load of money to buy new equipment (Just because I charge little to nothing, does not mean I don’t want to be professional). Behringer really came through with the PMP1680s. I absolutely love that I can use 2 separate effects on this unit. Plenty of power for your mains (for a medium size gig up to 100 ppl and around 3000 square feet.) Mixes beautifully with lots of sound adjustments for you audiophiles. My favorite is the Behringer music enhancement switch. Wow, it really makes the mids super punchy.Only problem I had was the first one I got was a little quirky. When you turned the power off, you would have to wait a bit before turning it back on or no sound. ?? But, I called Behringer to make sure it wasn’t something I was doing. Then, returned to Amazon for replacement. Service was GREAT!!! Got the new one in two days after filing for replacement. Thank you AMAZON!!Because the new one has no quirks and is a real workhorse!!!

Super light, and super crisp and loud! As a DJ/Karaoke host I appreciate the quality and weight of this amp. I don’t know if it is much louder than my 800 watt amp by behringer, but I got 5 years out of that amp and if I can get 5 out of this one for the price then it’s a great deal. For the money, it can’t be touched. I am a believer in the Fenders, Peaveys and Yamahas out there, I know they are louder per watt and have great lasting power, but for the money, this amp is right for most users. You can buy 2 or 3 of these for what the name brands are selling their comparable ones for. This amp pushes my behringer 15 inch speaker boxes with eminence speakers. I blew one of my behringer speakers and replaces it with the eminence, the eminence sounded 1000% better and it was so lopsided sounding, I had to replace the other behringer with the eminence speaker. Holy moly, with my 2 eminence loaded behringer speakers, I would put them up against any brand name same size speaker, and I will win. This is about the Amp, really good amp for the money.

The best deals for us retired types are class D power amps what are no longer 60 lbs or more. This one is very good on the arms. There is no traditional input level adjustments for each channel.. so it is best to set it up as follows (works for me)…All input channels off, outputs off… connect all devices with controls off. Now turn on the main amp and set it at about 3 PM or 3/4 full mode. The signal noise ratio is very good so at max you will only hear a slight noise from the amp.. Note: No such thing as a 100% quiet amp) ambient RF noise in the are will cause more erroneous sounds as well. With the channel volume knob off, plug in a guitar and have the guitar volume set at 50% or so, turn on the channel volume knob while listening the its loudness in the mains… If sound really loud with the volume knob at less than 1/4 on.. then press in the PAD button in. Note: The PAD puts in resistance to the input signal to a more manageable level. The guitar is set.Do the same with all other channels for instruments and voice. If the clipping LED starts to light up… have the input source turn it’s volume down to avoid clipping. Note: that just because the red LED is blinking, the actual sound you hear coming out of the speakers is your real indication of clipping. With some amps.. there is a little more headroom between blinking light clipping and actual clipping you will hear.If all is set right, no clipping and yet you need more volume out front… push up your main amp control to for more volume. However.. if your clipping like a mad dog and you still need more volume.. Then the next best thing is to add two 8 ohms speakers on each side. Normally we hook up only one speaker on each side right? Well two speakers on each side will drop the impedance on each side of the amplifiers (left and right to 4 ohms on each side. At 4 ohms you now are pushing 800 watts (nearly) on each side.) Makes sense because more speakers = more air being pushed = louder music. This amplifier was chosen by me for having also the access to the amplifier only that can be used to power an external mixer. In other words it has 1/4″ jacks for the left and right meaning I could plug in a 2nd mixer into the amplifier in conjunction to using the mixer on the main unit. Note: While I was using the amplifier last week.. I took a 1/4″ plug and plugged it into the amplifiers input jack and was surprised that it didn’t disconnect the on board mixer. That means it worked as an “insert” as opposed to a either or connection… and this is a plus if I needed to add a smaller mixer to the amp for more channels, I could imply plug the 2nd mixer to the amplifiers and whamo I’m good to go.My text was only a rough indicator that it should work.. I haven’t actually tried to connect a 2nd mixer to it yet. I’ll do that next week and update this page if needed. The RC jacks designed to input a music source works fairly well but you will note that it does not have its own EQ knobs. This means … plugging in an iPhone mean that the music will be pretty flat. A better solution would be to use a mini stereo plug to your iPhone and at the other end of the cable, have 2 1/4″ standard plugs to use a normal channel (left and right plugs). This way you will have access to the EQ knobs of that channel. One thing I did notice though and I’d appreciate any feedback from other owners. The right hand channels present 2 inputs (left and right) for plugging in a stereo source. However, it also has the left channel labeled as “mono” ..but when I plug in a source to the left channel only…. sound only comes out of left side. For mono, I’m thinking I should have sound coming out of both the left and right speakers. Much like using the 1/4″ plug on channel 1 for example… Plug in a guitar there and the guitar plays in both left and right speakers. Please test that guys and let me know how it works for you.

Great product for an excellent price!
Having purchased the Behringer PMP960M, i soon realised that it only provided a mono output. The Behringer PMP1680S immediately replaced it after i found a great deal in the Amazon Warehouse.I use this mixer/amplifier to power 2x400W (4 Ohm) speakers daisy chained to another set of speakers bringing the total to 4. There is more than enough power to go around and the clarity of the sound is amazing. One of the other reasons for my upgrade were the 2 built in effects processors that allow you to create thousands of different unique effects per channel. The ability to tweak these settings per channel creates a more harmonic mix for your venue. I use this mixer/amp to power a medium sized indoor venue and it provides great quality in all frequencies. I would recommend it to those looking at the Behringer PMP range, you never know when you’ll need the extra power!
