This is possibly the most impactful $25 to $30 you could spend on a single pedal to shape your guitar tone. I owned the BOSS GE-7 for many years – I bought thinking I could fix a crummy amp just by moving some sliders around. I was wrong, obviously, and as my gear improved later in life, I sold the GE-7 and forgot about EQ pedals, for the most part. Recently, however, I was looking at trying one of the more premium options, like the MXR 6-band or 10-band or BOSS EQ-200, but couldn’t justify the price. So, I figured I would just try out the Behringer for $25 to see if it was something I could use.I’m actually surprised how good this is for such a cheap pedal. I was expecting it to introduce a bunch of white noise (something the GE-7 was known for), but it really has not been an issue. Placing this after a Tonex ONE (or a drive pedal) allows you to dramatically transform the sound of that pedal. Placing it before an amp or a drive allows you to use it almost like clean boost, and I love that it has a master level control. If I’m being critical, we know about the build quality of these pedals. It’s similar to a BOSS, but an all-plastic construction that I could definitely see failing down the road. Also, the frequency sliders work, but are a little wobbly and also do not have the “notch” position in the middle, so you do not know when they are exactly at zero. BUT, those are minor quibbles with a pedal that costs a little bit more from a full meal from Panera Bread. If you’re unsure if EQ is something you could use, this Behringer pedal is a great, low-risk place to start.

For the price, this pedal is pretty amazing. An EQ pedal at the beginning of your signal chain can greatly alter the sound of your guitar. I can make my Tele sound like it has humbuckers or make my SG or Les Paul mimic a single coil. You can also use this as a boost pedal for leads or high gain situations. The Behringer is pretty noisey, but for the price it’s incredible. You just need to punch it in at the right time.

As is true for other Behringer pedals I have used the EQ700 is quiet, solid, basic and effective. Some find fault with their plastic construction but for most purposes I do not. Motorcycle helmets and the like are made with modern plastics. These appear tough. On the other hand the slider controls themselves are probably a bit delicate, and even if not broken by an errant foot their settings would be easily disturbed. There should be a cover that fits over the sliders. But for all this the EQ700 is a useful tool, enabling shaping of the tone with a precision beyond that of an amps tone controls. My own favorite uses is to 1) tighten the bass without thickening the overall bottom end. I do this by raising the 100 hz slider about 8db and at the same time decreasing the 200hz output just enough to compensate for the 100hz slider’s influence on the the frequency centered above it. (The hz designations give the center point of the slider’s action. Picture it as a hill of beans that grows wider at the base as it get taller) and 2) to add sparkle to the upper frequencies with the slider most effective for this depending on the guitar and its PUP type. This only requires a small (3db) increase and thus does not noticeably influence any frequency outside of the slider’s own range.

For whatever reason, my jazz guitar does not have a tone know. This pedal fixes that, and I can dial in whatever tone I’m looking for, better than most tone knobs can. Nice price and seems well built.
best stuff to buy…. –
I did some research before buying. a wanted an EQ pedal that has more than 3 tone controls……and more than 5 for versatility. this has 7 and that’s enough.. I know there are some out there with 10 or more divisions of the musical spectrum this is a classic, well known. I had to provide the standard 9 volt supply. it can hold a 9 volt battery also

If you’re hesitant to purchase it, just do it. Yes it does has a small hiss and yes the housing is plastic but this is depreciable in compassion of the great way it equalizes the sound. In my humble opinion it is a great transparent tool, it does the job for what is intended.

Noisy. Alot of hiss on this. Also it really overdrives the amp, if your looking for that it may be more your thing. I was hoping just to push mids without coloring my JCM 800 so much. But considering the low price I can’t complain. Didn’t work for what I wanted though.

Compleet verkeerd beoordeeld
