Description

From the manufacturer

The CX2310 stereo 2-way/mono 3-way crossover provides amazing-accurate audio frequency separation, thanks to its state-of-the-art circuitry, superior-grade components, ultra low-noise op amps and balanced I/O connectivity. Additionally, the CX2310 features an independently-adjustable Subwoofer Output, effectively providing an extra low-frequency band a control range from 10 – 235 Hz. By using 1% metal film resistors, along with other extremely tight-tolerance components, the CX2310 is able to surgically-precise frequency selection with incredibly-low thermal noise. Put simply, the easy-to-use SUPER-X PRO CX2310 is one of the best-sounding crossovers in its class!

Sound Quality

When a sound system is properly tuned, it becomes powerful, balanced and efficient. Bass content is punchy and tight, with vocals and instruments that are rich, crisp and well defined. The CX2310 crossover’s accurate signal processing protects critical loudspeaker components and improves overall system efficiency. All Input and Output connections are balanced/unbalanced XLR and feature 25 Hz Low Cut filters for low-frequency driver protection – plus Mute and Phase Invert switches, making troubleshooting even a large system – virtually effortless!

What’s a Crossover?

Loudspeakers (which we call transducers) convert electrical signals into sound waves. And no matter how well a transducer is designed or made, it simply cannot reproduce the entire audio spectrum all by itself. Low-frequency sounds tend to push a transducer to the maximum, making it impossible for that same transducer to reproduce the treble content with the sound quality it deserves. (Try singing high falsetto next time you’re bench-pressing your limit!)

That’s why high-quality sound systems use multiple speakers (woofers and tweeters) to spread out the work. While the woofer (usually the larger transducer) does all the heavy lifting, the tweeter can easily handle the high-frequency content. Three and four-way systems distribute the work even more, allowing the individual transducers to reproduce the frequency range for which they were designed. It is the crossover’s function to divide these tasks between the various amplifiers and transducers.

Divide and Conquer

The CX2310 provides two modes of operation: 2-way stereo, for Left and Right Lows (woofers) and Highs (tweeters); and 3-way mono, for Lows, Mids and Highs. In either mode, there is an additional output provided for a mono Subwoofer, with its own Frequency and Level controls. This extra feature effectively turns the CX2310 into a stereo 2-way + mono 1-way, or a mono 4-way frequency crossover. The Subwoofer Output is presented in mono, since people perceive extremely-low bass frequencies as being omnidirectional. For your convenience, the CX2310’s front panel features an elegant and easy-to-read LED matrix, so you can see at a glance which operating mode has been selected – and which controls are currently active.

Extraordinary Value

The high-precision CX2310 is the super-effective and affordable way to optimize the performance of your sound system – and protect your valuable loudspeaker investment at the same time! Stop by your authorized BEHRINGER dealer, or get your SUPER-X PRO CX2310 online today!

Using with my Stereo setup with 1 sub for now. Replaced small box two-way crossover.
Hey I got this to replace (other brand) Small Box / SX45 Two Way Crossover. It works well.I’m using it with my Old Yamaha receiver, with the jumpers taken out which makes it / switches it to a PREAMP. so Using for now as a 2.1 setup.Currently I only have 1 sub, I set the Behringer SUPER-X PRO CX2310 V2, crossovers according to how I want it, adjusted the levels etc.. I am using the subwoofer output for now, but Once I Get 2 subs, I will switch to the dual low outputs. Hopefully it works just as well. so it would then be switched to a true 2.2 Stereo setup (2 / Stereo subs)I’m not a pro audio guy, but I Can say this works better than my previous SX45 and I Like it a lot. It’s very thin or little depth in dimensions, I just put a short padding(old mouse pad/mat cut) at the front of my Yamaha and put the Behringer right on top. Most of the Yamaha preamp heat comes out the open space / section about mid-way back on top so it’s fine. This is a great product.Even though it’s look, and design if more pushed / put out for PRO AUDIO, I Can say it works great as a Home Audio Crossover, at least in my style of setup. It adds a lot of control to your setup, try it out. it’s pretty easy to understand how it works. When using the actual dedicated sub out, personally I set mine to about 50/55Hz, and my speakers crossover to about 60Hz~ around there. This is how online guides, and people say to do it because the missing Hz/ Section is in a way added together by the high and low roll offs. I Don’t know how else to explain it in my knowledge/wording.. but it works. Also go by your ears and understanding.Side note: My Speakers are low sensitivity 84dB, There is a tiny amount of hiss from the tweeters with the input and high output levels set to 0. I Don’t mind seeing it’s such a small amount of hiss and is normal in most cases(And is only noticeable putting your head / ear close to the speaker/tweeter), but I don’t know how this would fair in HIGH SENSITIVITY SPEAKERS, Would there be a lot more HISS, I’m not sure. In the end you can also turn the levels down on the Behringer. Also the hiss could be dependent on the gear used beyond/before the Behringer Crossover.Take care and good luck trying out yours.

    Behringer CX2310 v2 as a 2 Ways Crossover for Modified Stereo JBL 250Ti Bi-AMP
The latest version of the Behringer Super-X Pro CX2310 v2, a 2 Ways Crossover was delivered by Amazon Canada at time. In advance, I modified my 35 years old stereo JBL 250Ti speakers inside wirings to BI-AMP by myself, the 14 inches woofer passive low frequency crossover is isolated from the passive high frequency crossover which connects the 8 and 4 inch, and the titanium speakers. A Bi-AMP speaker terminal with separated High and Low Frequency terminals are added at the back of the speaker.Sound Equipment used: (1) A Behringer Super-X Pro CX2310v2; (2) A Sound Town ST-UPDM4C 4 Channels @950W RMS Class D power amplifiers; (3) A Yamaha WXC-50 MusicCast Preamplifier. (All there of them can be bought through Amazon Canada).Stage One: A new Sound Town ST-UPDM4C 4 Channels, @950W RMS Class D power amplifiers are directly connected to these two BI-AMP modified JBL 250Ti speakers for a test drive. The speakers inside wirings are proved being modified right, improvement in clear sound quality and bass dynamic are noted instantly, these test connections are as shown in the photos.Stage 2: The active Behringer Super-X Pro CX2310 v2 crossover frequency is set at 400 Hz for 2 ways BI-AMP driving. This is connected with my 35 years old grey color unbalanced OFC audio cable, as shown connected in the photos, from my Yamaha WXC-50 unbalanced pre-amplifier to the balanced Behringer Crossover with adapter. My Behringer Crossover is XLR cables connected to my Sound Town ST-UPDM4C 4 Channels power amplifiers for driving my 35 years old JBL 250Ti BI-AMP modifications. This Behringer Super-X Pro CX2310 v2 crossover processes with crystal clear music, sweet vocal sound quality supported with flat, solid and punching bass for my Sound Town ST-UPDM4C 4 Channels @950W RMS Class D power amplifiers in driving my 35 years old JBL 250Ti BI-AMP modifications with wide dynamic and deeper sound field delivering much advance clear sound quality improvement.Stage 3: Stereo 2.1 single subwoofer connection test of the Behringer Super-X Pro CX2310 v2 which is set with subwoofer crossover frequency at 100Hz to drive the JBL LS120P 12 inch self powered subwoofer, while the Mid/High crossover frequency is set at 2.6KHZ to drive the JBL LS40 BI-AMP speakers with the Sound Town ST-UPDM4C 4 Channels @950W RMS Class D power amplifier. (This JBL LS120P 400W amplifier was burnt a few months ago, I repaired this subwoofer by replacing with the Sound Town STAPS-600D 400W RMS Class D Plate amplifier, so it can connect directly with XLR cable to the Behringer subwoofer terminal). And Yamaha WXC-50 is still being connected as the preamplifier. As expected, this match-setting also delivers much advance clear sound quality improvement. The Stereo 250Ti speakers are Titanium design and two 14 inches woofers, with one for each speaker; while the Stereo 2.1 LS400 speakers are Horn design and with only one 12 inches woofer. So the Stereo 250Ti speakers deliver better BASS experience from the two 14 inches woofers but the Stereo 2.1 LS400 speakers deliver better VOCAL experience from the horn speaker in sound nature for music listening. Great values and sounds. No HUMMING at the two 14 inches woofers of the JBL 250Ti speakers nor at the JBL LS120P 12 inches woofer! I enjoy very much the experience of this BI-AMP modification and the purchasing support of Amazon Canada.
