A Super Mic for Amps, Instruments and Vocals

A Super Mic for Amps, Instruments and Vocals

Need a versatile mic to handle drums, percussion, amplifiers and other instrumental sources? Behringer has the answer with the B 906, a super cardioid dynamic mic that’s custom designed for great instrument reproduction! The B 906 instrument microphone is especially tailored for guitar amps, and is also excellent for percussion, horns and vocals.

Switch the Presence Filter and Change the Sound

Switch the Presence Filter and Change the Sound

The B 906 features a switchable presence filter which allows you to tailor the sound characteristics to different sound requirements and styles. The filter is adjusted via a slide switch on the microphone with different positions to boosts the presence for aggressive metal rhythm guitars or for classic rock and smooth jazz and blues sounds.

Flat Front Design for Easy Positioning

Flat Front Design for Easy Positioning

You can hang the B 906 on a guitar amp for stand-free performance. Its laterally mounted capsule has been specially developed for miking guitar amps face on and extremely close to the signal source. Due to its flat design, the B 906 is also very suitable for use with drums, since it can easily be positioned in cramped space conditions. The super cardioid pattern is great for reducing bleed in tight situations onstage, and the B 906’s hum compensating coil rejects interference. Stick the B 906 in front of your amp or drum kit and you’re ready to go!

I wanted to have a backup for my $200 Sennheiser e906. I gig a lot, I bring my own microphones, and I don’t want to be carry around an expensive (for my budget) microphone. I saw the price of the Behringer b906, and I figured I would just return it if it was cheaply made or if it sounded bad.I used it this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s built very sold: cast metal body and metal grill. It sounded great on my guitar amp – two gigs, no issues.Just to do some comparison, I set up my amp in my studio, and recorded some tracks using both my e906 and the b906, and I A/B’d them using both an RTA and my ears. I kept the both mics ‘flat’ (did not use the switch to boost or cut anything). I was surprised at the results. Looking at the graphs from the RTA, there are some minor differences, but nothing really glaring (no odd peaks or valleys on the graph). And, just simply using my ears, I noticed that the b906 was a little ‘darker’ and had slightly more gain (volume not distortion) than the e906.Conclusion, I will definitely keep this mic, and will definitely use it in any live situation that I would ordinarily use the e906. I’ll keep that one safe at home. The real proof will be how long it holds up in an on-the-road gigging situation. Only time will tell, but I will be putting it to the test.

Ok I’m blown away by the price of this! It’s built like a tank and is so sturdy. It sounds pretty good. It’s connected into our mixer and picks up my Vox amp. No distortion or any problems with this mic at all. There is 3 switches on the back for different patterns. I haven’t played with that feature a ton but only have it set all the way to the right but it picks it up crystal clear. Love this mic a lot and honestly love behringer. The price to quality is insane and as a inspiring artist in a band thank you!

Perfectly useful and functional, esp in a live setting. The eq/countour switch is effective, though i feel a high cut would be more useful than the boost. I havent compared it to the thing it sorta copies, but I can say it does the thing—- probably better choices in the studio, but that’s pretty subjective anyway. No self noise of weirdness that I have noticed.Oh, they give you a decent plastic case and a clip, too. Really, get kind of a lot for $45. The plastic body is really the only turn off, and why I gave 4 stars…. It does seem like it will hold up pretty well, but it ain’t a 57 🤪.

I can’t afford the more expensive OG but these seem to do the trick JUST FINE. Lots of compliments on how great the guitars sound coming out of the PA, and, frankly, there is rarely a tone/signal refined enough coming out of the amps to worry about any difference between these and their counterpart. SO MUCH EASIER than using a mic stand with a ’57. I bought one and loved it. Subsequently have purchased another, and then another. Very happy with these.

This mic picks up signals much like a condenser mic. It does benefit from a preamp, and overall I am pleased with this mic. Buy Shure if you can, I couldn’t; however this mic deliveres satisfactorily!

For being on a budget, it’s perfect. Perfect for small venues, dive bars, music schools/school of rock, etc that want to have house mics but don’t have the budget to buy industry standard mics from Shure, Sennheiser, etc.Perfect for guitar players that don’t want to bring more expensive mics to bar gigs for fear of getting lost. Also perfect for young musicians, high school band, etc that don’t have $100 to spend on a SM57 or who’s parents don’t want to spend that kind of money for a microphone. In a live situation it’s great, sounds good, no complaints. In a recording however, you would definitely hear the difference vs using a SM57 or Sennheiser 906 (the mic this Behringer one is emulating). So if you can use one of those for recording I would. But if this mic is all you have for recording guitars, then it’s fine. It won’t sound bad.

I used it for a few shows as my bass amp mic. I hung it over the amp and it sat in front of a 12” bass speaker. All good so far and worked well enough but having both sides of the mic active simply allowed too much stage noise into the bass channel so I went back to my sm-57 from 1975, it worked better for my needs.I must add that I’m a huge Behringer fan and have lots of their gear and I will continue to use Behringer whenever possible.

I’ve purchased two of these mics and have used them successfully in multiple different ways. At a festival I recently did sound for, I used them to mic small guitar amps and was very pleased with the performance. I only had to add a little EQ to balance out the frequency range. I use one weekly for a cajon and I use a mic stand to hold it in the port of the cajon, but has worked pretty well ‘face up’ sitting on a sponge ‘mount’ in the bottom of the cajon. Like others have reported, it isn’t that great of a vocal mic. If you want to use it with a ‘regular’ mic clip, bring some tape. The included mount is ok, but looks like everything else so it is easy to get mixed in. Generally I’m happy. The mic seems to be holding up well to weekly usage and the price was so good that if it gets lost or damaged, I don’t fret about it. Well done Behringer.

Sonido casi profesional a un precio espectacular.
LLevo un año utilizandolos en sala de conciertos y suenan de lujo, mejor que un sm57, los filtros funcionan perfectamente. Comprare un par de ellos mas.
