It’s time to channel the beauty of 1984 in Arturia’s percussive style. The Arturia DrumBrute Impact 1984 drum machine, like its predecessor, produces a powerful analog drum tone while also offering exceptional sequencing and performance features. DrumBrute Impact, with its varied sync choices — MIDI, USB, Clock (four distinct forms), and internal — is the ideal method to add an analog drum machine to any performance setup. A multitude of hands-on controls allows for a wide range of creative options, from old-school techno and house to psytrance, dub, hip-hop, and much more. To top it off, the Arturia DrumBrute Impact 1984 includes a built-in distortion circuit on the output that adds just the proper amount of harmonic bite.
When you’ve developed an excellent drum pattern on your drum machine and want to transfer it to your DAW software for processing or mixing, the last thing you want to do is record your drum pattern one drum sound at a time into individual tracks – that gets old quickly. The Arturia DrumBute Impact has four independent audio outputs (plus a master mix output), making recording grooves to your computer as multitrack audio simple.
The DrumBute Impact has performance effects such as Pattern Looper (for beat repetitions) and Step Repeat (for looping glitch effects), making it an excellent instrument for improvisation. There is also a Roller mode for making drum rolls and buildups. Song Mode enables you to chain patterns to create a longer composition, extending your ability to play with the DrumBute Impact.
Swing and accent are two of the most frequent methods for introducing dynamic interest to a drum machine pattern. The accent is selectable on each track separately, as one would expect. Swing may be applied to the entire pattern, or individual drum tracks if you choose. DrumBute Impact also has a randomisation option, which is ideal for giving your tracks a more human feel. You can apply this worldwide or per track.
We’ve used a lot of drum machines at S over the years, and we know that many of them are limited in their capacity to handle polyrhythms. The Arturia DrumBute Impact lets you customize the duration of each individual drum track, allowing you to build polyrhythms with any combination of drum sounds.
The Arturia DrumBrute has ten various drum sounds: a kick, two snares, high tom/low tom, cymbal/cowbell, closed hi-hat, open hi-hat, and FM percussion. The toms use the same sequencer lane, and you may switch between high and low toms with a button push, as well as cymbal and cowbell sounds. When it comes to building bespoke sequences, the DrumBrute can save 64 patterns with up to 64 steps each.
