The RODE NT5 is an amazing, 20Hz-20kHz condenser microphone with low noise specs and full frequency response. The NT5 is ideal for recording acoustic instruments, drum overheads, cymbals and live performances. The compact externally polarized microphone employs a 1/2 inch capsule and an active J-FET impedance converter with bipolar output buffer. Details include a heavy-duty cast metal body with a satin nickel finish and a cardioid polar pattern. The NT5 requires phantom power and includes a WS5 custom windscreen, RM5 stand mount and the ZP1 zip pouch.

Very good
I bought 2, use them for choir and music instruments sound collection to mixer. I set up them 90 to 120 degrees angle as the manual. It can collect sounds very clearly within 2-3 meter distance. Mixer will transfer the sound to speaker for audience and connect to computer for live streaming. It use 48v phantom power. That means the mixer input needs to have 48v phantom power XLR cable input.Sound quality is very good. Some time it can also collect very small noise. That means, we need to switch it off when the Choir is not singing.

Really good mic for recording acoustic guitar
The mic works great with the focusrite solo I also tried the mic with the behringer umc22 interface and also worked well. High volume on play back. Have the mic on a boom about half a meter away from guitar on 95% recording volume I found this to be the sweet spot for the mic. I’m using Audacity audio software. Really good microphone.

Great microphone!
All that came to my house was the microphone box. Usually Amazon packs things nicely, and things come in a amazon box/envelope for added protection (even if the product already has a box.) The box looked like it has been sitting in a warehouse for 10 years, which it very well might have been. I usually order audio gear through sweet water because I never have these sort of problems. Also the mic is new obviously because the warranty worked when I punched it in. It just worries me when I buy a new mic and receive a package that looks like it has been returned or sitting somewhere for a very long time. I recommend buying this mic on Sweetwater to avoid any issues like this.Update: I got another one from amazon, this time packaged nicely, in a brand new box. Im now using 2 nt5 mics for my acoustic and a rode nt1a for vocals. The sound i get is incredible. Only plugin i use is a little bit of reverb. I only do a touch of eq. Rode mics are very high quality. If you are in a home studio. These are the only small diaphragm mics you will ever need. Every rode mic comes with a 10 year warranty once registered with rode.com. That alone makes it worth the price tag. Most other brands give a 2 to 3 year warranty at best.
