It is amazingly compatible with a lightning iPhone. Your cover has to be a little thin or soft, otherwise the connector comes out with the slightest force or doesn’t go in, in the first place. Because of some software issue, you need to turn on the Rode mic app every time you connect it to the phone, to avoid distortion of audio that is being recorded. You will see once you buy, but it is not a big deal. Works really well and reduces unnecessary noise. However, it is uni-directional, so don’t expect it to capture sounds that are NOT coming from straight ahead of the mic.

I have used it for my Youtube videos, you can feel the difference at “Unpopular explorer” on YouTube. Very easy to use, just plug and play. The only negative point is the jack- it is very delicate, I have broken two mics already- make sure that you use it with extreme care

Works well after firmware update via Rode Reporter App. Previous to update audio was very crackly.
