I have an older Me-C (1 year ago) mic that currently works on my Pixel 7.0. I ordered this one as a backup mic. The new mic I just received throws the error intermittently when video recording: “Can’t record audio. Microphone is off or in use.” 25% of the time it will record and not throw the error, but usually the error occurs, especially when toggling video recording on/off. My old mic continues to work (even when rapidly toggling video record on/off) so I don’t think the problem is an Android issue.The return window is only 7 days on this product. Very disappointed. Frustrated to swallow the loss on this order.

I love rode products and prefer rode over anything else. Regarding this mic there are multiple drawbacks like you have to remove mobile cover everytime you use, recording volume is manual and not automatic, to listen to what is been recorded you have to remove the device again. Also without wind shield it takes lot of indoor room noise which was not expected. Audio is crisp and clear no doubt, output is amazing but don’t touch this device if you are a beginner you will surely get frustrated. Overall 2 stars because i did not find it user friendly.

I rarely take the time to write a review, but this is such a crappy product. Every random film has static and squelches. I updated Firmware, and looked everywhere for a solution, tried airplane mode ect. It is so disappointing to record and then look back and see the recording is completely useless.It is a pity as when it works it is great, but if you don’t want to have to re-record or the time, then avoid this.

It has no quality
just works at first time .. then the second time it makes noise in the video after recording .. and the more you use it the more problems you get .. such as the sound is starting after two seconds

Amazingly bad
I use it with my Android smartphone, and the sound quality is terrible. I’ve tried recording guitar, piano, and vocals, but it just doesn’t work well. I didn’t expect it to produce artifacts, but rather to track rehearsals or review our performances. However, the quality is weak and low. I can never get it right.
