Eikon RM8 Ribbon Studio Microphone

Double-sided 0.02 mm Pure Aluminum Foil

This specification suggests that the microphone’s ribbon element is made from a thin layer of pure aluminum foil. Ribbon microphones use this ribbon element to capture sound, and the thinness of the foil allows for quick and accurate response to sound waves. The “double-sided” aspect might refer to the construction of the ribbon to ensure sensitivity from both sides, which can be useful for capturing sound from different directions.

Difficult Mixing Circumstances

The microphone is designed to perform well even in challenging mixing situations. This could mean that it’s engineered to minimize interference from external factors, such as background noise, to ensure a clean recording that’s easier to work with during the mixing and post-production stages.

Package Contents:

The microphone package includes a few additional accessories:

• Shock Mount Support: This is used to attach the microphone to a microphone stand while providing isolation from vibrations and handling noise. This ensures that unwanted sounds like thumps or bumps are not picked up by the microphone.
• Windscreen Filter: A windscreen is a foam cover that fits over the microphone to reduce plosive sounds (like “p” and “b” sounds) and protect the microphone from light wind interference.
• Sturdy Aluminum Carrying Case: This case is meant to provide protection and easy transportation for the microphone and its accessories.
