Designed for versatility, the M6 features six inputs: four combo XLR/TRS jacks can handle microphones, line-level signals, or Hi-Z guitar inputs, each equipped with individual +48 V phantom power. This allows simultaneous use of multiple condenser microphones or instruments without compromise. Two additional dedicated 1/4″ line inputs expand your connectivity options for synthesizers or other line sources.

Output options include four balanced 1/4″ TRS line outputs, DC-coupled for direct connection to studio monitors, and two stereo 1/4″ headphone outputs powered by ESS Sabre DAC technology, delivering headphone amplification comparable to dedicated amps. The built-in A/B monitor switch lets you toggle between two pairs of monitors effortlessly, facilitating mix comparisons without rewiring.

The interface integrates MIDI I/O with one MIDI IN and one MIDI OUT port, supporting 16 channels of MIDI communication with your computer host. This streamlines hardware synth or controller integration within your digital audio workstation environment.

Connectivity is future-proof with USB-C 2.0 class-compliant audio support, compatible with USB Type-A hosts via adapters. This ensures compatibility across Mac, Windows, and iOS devices, including iPad Pro models. MOTU’s proprietary drivers optimize performance on Mac and Windows for ultra-low round-trip latency around 2.5 ms at 96 kHz, enabling real-time monitoring without distracting delay.

Additional workflow enhancements include loopback channels for live streaming or podcasting, allowing you to mix computer playback with up to four live inputs directly within your software. Standalone operation is supported via the included international multi-blade DC power adapter, powering the unit and enabling monitoring without a connected computer or iOS device.
