Dynaudio Core Sub Quad 9-inch Powered Studio Subwoofer

Dynaudio’s Core Sub, which has four side-firing 9″ drivers, delivers the type of tight and concentrated low-frequency extension that a true studio sub should provide. These are Dynaudio’s MSP+ (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) Hybrid Drive versions, which use aluminum for maximum rigidity. The Core Sub’s dual-action dampening technology prevents ringing overtones. Overall, the Core Sub readily competes with numerous 18″ subs that  engineers have used. And with features like up to 24-bit/192kHz digital input, versatile mounting choices, and 1,000 watts of amplification for plenty of headroom, Dynaudio’s Core Sub is hard to beat.

Flexible positioning

Dynaudio provided indentations on all otherwise blank sides of the Core Sub cabinet to accommodate special Dynaudio pads that protect the cabinet’s finish and stabilize the speaker on the mounting surface. Core Sub is also compatible with regular VESA mounting brackets and Dynaudio’s unique K&M bracket, allowing you to put it on a wall or ceiling as part of a multichannel or immersive-format display system like Dolby ATMOS.

Sophisticated, user-friendly DSP

When establishing a monitoring system, placement is crucial. That’s why Dynaudio included the Core Sub with two DSP filter switches to control its position and room boundary locations. The DSP is pretty complicated, but fortunately, it is simple to use. If you install the monitors on the meter bridge of a large-format mixing console, just choose “Desk,” which will assist in correcting the mixing board’s initial reflection. If you put the monitors in a specially designed wall, changing the Position 1 filter to “Soffit” will compensate for the enhanced low-end response.

To compensate for the boundary effects caused by positioning a monitor close to walls or ceilings, change the Position 2 filter to “Wall” or “Corner.” These filters serve to correct for the reflections caused by the boundary walls, particularly at lower frequencies. If you’re utilizing the Core Sub with a subwoofer to boost the low-frequency response, an 80Hz Linkwitz-Riley highpass filter may be activated.

Unique Sound Balance Filter

You may also utilize DSP to change the overall appearance. The Sound Balance filter varies from the shelving-EQ tweeter and woofer adjustments found on most active monitors. Instead of merely turning up or down the tweeter level, which affects phase response, the Core Sub uses a full-spectrum bandpass filter that tilts based on the tone response you want. The “Dark” preset tilts the entire frequency response so that 20 kHz is down by 1.5dB and 20 Hz is up +1.5dB. In “Bright” mode, the tilt is reversed. This soft filter retains the drivers’ appropriate phase response while producing the desired overall tone.

For those who demand uncompromising low-frequency performance in professional audio environments, the Dynaudio Core Sub redefines what a subwoofer can deliver. Whether you are a studio engineer, live sound professional, or audiophile seeking precise and powerful bass reproduction, this subwoofer provides the foundation your sound system needs to achieve clarity, depth, and impact. In environments where every decibel counts and accuracy is paramount, the Dynaudio Core Sub ensures your low end is felt as well as heard, with unmatched control and fidelity.

Low-frequency sound reproduction is often where many audio systems falter, resulting in muddiness or distortion that undermines the overall listening experience. The Dynaudio Core Sub addresses this challenge head-on with a 9-inch Magnesium Silicate Polymer driver, a material choice that offers exceptional rigidity and low distortion. This means the bass notes are reproduced with purity and precision, allowing you to hear every nuance in your mix or performance. The sealed MDF double front baffle enclosure further enhances sound accuracy by minimizing unwanted resonances, providing a tight and controlled bass response that translates well in both studio and live settings.

Power is another critical aspect of subwoofer performance, and the Dynaudio Core Sub does not disappoint. With a total power output of 1000 watts, this powered subwoofer can deliver a maximum peak sound pressure level of 120 dB SPL measured at one meter. For the user, this means the ability to fill larger rooms or venues with deep, impactful bass without strain or distortion. The substantial power reserve ensures that dynamic peaks in music or soundtracks are handled with ease, preserving the integrity of the original audio content.

Connectivity options on the Dynaudio Core Sub are designed with professional workflows in mind. It includes two XLR inputs, one of which supports AES/EBU digital audio, allowing seamless integration with digital audio consoles and interfaces. An XLR output provides flexibility for daisy-chaining additional speakers or routing signals within complex setups. Additionally, a USB Type B port enables firmware updates and configuration through Dynaudio’s proprietary software, giving you control over the subwoofer’s performance parameters to tailor the sound precisely to your environment and application.

Physically, the Dynaudio Core Sub weighs 105.8 pounds, reflecting its robust construction and high-quality materials. The sealed enclosure not only contributes to acoustic performance but also ensures durability and long-term reliability under demanding professional use. Its compact footprint relative to its power output makes it a practical choice for studios, touring rigs, or fixed installations where space and sound quality are equally important.

This subwoofer excels in a variety of use cases. In recording studios, it provides the critical low-end reference needed for mixing and mastering with confidence. For live sound, it delivers the punch and clarity necessary to energize audiences without overwhelming the rest of the sound spectrum. Audiophiles will appreciate its ability to reproduce bass frequencies with clean, distortion-free sound that enhances music listening experiences. The Dynaudio Core Sub’s precision and power make it a versatile tool for anyone serious about sound reproduction.

Investing in the Dynaudio Core Sub means choosing a subwoofer that stands at the forefront of audio engineering. Its combination of advanced driver materials, powerful amplification, and professional connectivity ensures that your low-frequency sound is accurate, impactful, and reliable. At a competitive price point, currently offered at ₹535,990 from a regular price of ₹595,990, it represents exceptional value for professionals demanding the best.
