Designed specifically as an optional add-on card for the SPL P8 microphone preamp, the ADC8 is an 8-channel A/D converter card sporting ADAT output at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. With an AKM 5538 24-bit converter chip inside, this converter provides powerful and reliable ADAT transmission.
The ADC8 provides eight channels of high-resolution ADAT audio via two TOSLINK optical outputs. The card also includes BNC word clock input and output jacks which provide clean, low-jitter master clocking via accurate quartz oscillators. When an external sync signal is detected, the card automatically disengages internal oscillation to avoid interference. Finally, the word clock segment features a 75-ohm termination button, which switches the BNC word clock jacks to 75 ohms for use with broadcast audio/video infrastructure, avoiding signal loss from mismatched impedance.
